Almost 100% sure I don't have one. Where can you get one of these? Sorry I'm responding so late, I took a long walk :). If you want MSN me or AIM me @ MrDansMusic(@hotmail.com).

I ate a half 1/8 with a close friend at age 16. It was a mild but exhilarating time. I suggest you wait a few more years till your older. What are grade are you in, 7/8 grade? Like the one poster above me, I was still blowing shit up and setting off fireworks when I was that age. You should wait. It'll be much better, trust me. When the time is right you'll absolutely know. Until then, hold off and keep skateboarding with your friends.

9th grade lol. And don't worry I'm not one of those stupid shits or something; I'm 100% honors :). You would think this is irrelevant, but I just think smarts shows an amount of maturity, know what I'm sayin'? :P

Coming on here and asking about it instead of just diving head first shows your maturity. I say go for it.

i did shrooms for the first time when i was 17, and it was pretty dam crazy. i did it alone, and with my parents home also. honestly, you and your friend will probably have an interesting experience just chilling and talking about how you feel and how crazy shit is and stuff. i mean i dunno, i wasnt into drugs when i was 14 at all, and i didnt even start blazing until 10th grade, but that doesnt mean you arent ready. i feel like people over analyze whether they are "ready" for psychedelics, in my opinion if you want the experience and know you will experience good and bad, then you are "ready", regardless of what age you are. let us know how it goes dude.

Doing them outside camping or by a river the first time is a BAD BAD BAD idea... they can so seriously warp your sense of everything that there is real risk of falling off a cliff or deciding to swim and drowning. Doing them at home in a safe familiar environment first few times can reduce unexpected extreme effects. & freakouts, as well as reduce physical danger due to whacked-out judgement. Just turn off the lights and play some trippy music. Sitting at home is fine, perfect... its all about what is happening INSIDE that matters.

Well I'm not gonna tell you off for your age, since people do what they wanna do, but I will say -

Chillin' inside is definitely a MUST, especially for your first time. Mushrooms differ from many other psychs in that they aren't lucid at all, meaning you don't have much power over the trip and it can get pretty difficult to function in a normal environment, especially around other people.

I experienced a ++++ (best trip I've ever had to date, helped me find my soul) laying down with a blindfold on a comfy bed in total darkness with my girlfriend [might also mention I used the lemon tek]. This is how mushrooms are truly meant to be experienced - with eyes CLOSED. Open eye visuals on shrooms are extremely secondary to what goes on behind your eyelids. You'll want to make sure you feel very safe and comfortable where you ingest the sacrament.

I'l also mention the lemon tek. It's the ONLY way I take my mushies now. You may not want to do it your first time like many people, but I still strongly recommend it. It rids the trip of much of the anxiety/paranoia in the come up, and lessens body load by a mile. It allows a much more proper psilocybin experience to be had.

Tea is really going to be more trouble than it's worth for first timers, as it takes a bit of experience and finesse to get the process down to produce a worthwhile product.

If you decide to eat 'em whole, peanut butter is the most excellent thing I know of to mask the taste without putting too much stuff in your stomach. Try not to eat for 3-4 hours before the trip as well.

Have fun, be safe, and goob vibes brother.

^HAHA simultaneous posts... great minds must think alike! Xmas Sychronicity, a most auspicious sign!

I think maybe swollowing them you get more of the total alkaloids that way, steeping in water may not extract everything. Grind to a fine powder in a coffee bean grinder is best (10-15 dollars at K-MART or somewhere cheap)... if you cant do that, then crush them real good and you can also use scissors to cut them up into really fine tiny bits, then mix your dose with something like honey or peanut butter (but as little as possible), OR put small spoonfuls on the back of your tongue and swallow with gulps of a strong sweet juice like pineapple or OJ. Never compared to making making tea but I bet you get more out of them... just eat the whole dose quick, and also have an empty stomach before hand, you will get off MUCH better than with food in there even as recently as 2 hours... wait at least 3 hours after any meal.

I agree about the being in darkness... though I find TOTAL dark with eyes open seems to cause the brain to generate more visions. Theres a thread on tripping in total darkness... see here http://bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?t=531387

Also, if you have not already see erowid.org for lots of advice, guides and reports.

Good luck!

Here's a good-luck graphic... they used to show this sometimes on a big screen at Grateful Dead shows at peak trippy moments... it is spelling out "Namaste" in Sanskrit letters! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Namaste). Try downloading this (right click & hold, save-as), then playing it with a player you can go full screen with and stare at it at some point... it has a VERY intense otherworldly effect when tripping (give it time to totally load and start changing/looping real fast)

sounds like youre not stupid and I was eating shrooms fairly regularly when I was 15. I dont think when youre that young that you really get the full enlightenment part of the experience. That doesnt mean its not fun as hell. I know when I was eating them at that age I was looking for something to fuck me up. Obviously if you go into the experience with that in your head youre not gonna really draw massive deep conclusions about yourself and your life. If thats not what youre going for and all you wanna do is get goofy and laugh a lot then I would say youre not gonna be disappointed but you may wanna reconsider the time and place you do them. Your sleeping parents should not be the only other non tripping people present and you might not wanna drop them at midnight cause youll just be wiped out and tired and totally unable to fall asleep till well into the next day. Wait till a saturday and eat them and go walking around in the woods or some shit youll have a much better time.

You sounds like a pretty smart kid, and I know you feel ready, but the way a psychedelic experience can "mess" with your development isn't by tweaking brain chemistry necessarily. A trip has the potential to be immeasurably profound. The truth is it could end up being amazing and one the best experiences of your life, and it could also be completely terrifying and really fuck with your head. They way doing this could "change" you is by making such a mental/emotion impact in your psyche that you cant ignore it, it could take way too much importance and weight in your life. Fourteen years old is when people should be figuring out what makes them happy what doesn't, and how to healthily handle the things that don't. I can confidently say it isn't a great idea to toy with something that interrupts they way you perceive reality (possibly long term) during those formative years.

I first tripped when I was 16, and it was fucking incredible, but I probably should have waited. I hadn't matured and gotten the reasoning and mental filtering skills to separate the useful from the distracting "lessons" from the trip.

You probably wont listen to me, but if you do eat the shrooms- do not fuckin' listen to that guy telling you to make tea. It makes it hit you VERY fast, sometimes before you even finish the tea. And with shrooms, especially for a first timer, that is an easy way to make yourself very, very uncomfortable.

I'm 100% sure that I'm mentally ready to start tripping.

Mentally ready?
It is hard to believe that you are in a good place to trip, psychologically.
Mushrooms, and other similar drugs, have the power to temporarily unmake your personality, stripping you bare of everything you though you were. 8o
This can be terrifying, but it can also be one of the best gifts they can give you.

The problem is, at age 14, you haven't finished making your personality yet.

Mushrooms can help you forget about the unimportant things you though were important, and rediscover what you once knew about the incredible beauty of joy.
If a 40-year old like me rediscovers childhood, it can be an amazing experience.
If a 10-year old "rediscovers" childhood, nothing is gained.

14 is a lot closer to 10 than to 40.

Have you already lost your ability to appreciate joy and to live in the immediacy of the now?
Are you jaded and closed-minded?
Mushrooms can help with these things, but at age 14 you likely have very little to gain other than seeing pretty patterns.

I would strongly recommend against taking any psychedelic substance until you are closer to being finished growing.

I would suggest that you spend your time learning, studying, maturing.
Why don't you learn to play a musical instrument (or, if you already do, improving your skills)?
Or learn to dance, or paint, or swim, or write poetry, or learn another language, or practice karate, or meditation...
There are so many valuable ways to use your precious time as a teenager.
Whatever time you spend now will count tenfold over the process of your life.
An hour a day playing drums in your teens will get you to a certain skill level by age 20 that would take you 3 hours a day in your 20s to achieve.

Don't waste your chance.

You won't get another.

Mushrooms will always be there, and you will have a lot more to potentially gain if you take them when you are older.

As an "elder" in this community, it is my job to try to protect the younger people from engaging in reckless or risky or foolish or ignorant behavior.
This post is designed with that purpose in mind, with respect for you and what you want to achieve and to experience, and for your potential in this life.

If you do choose to ignore my advice in the previous post, please at least do take the advice from nearjat.
Eat the shrooms, do not make tea.
Eat them slowly.
An eighth is consider a street dose, but an eighth can be very, very strong.
I have recommended a gram for first-timers, and no one has ever said it was too weak for them.

I took my first dose of shrooms when I was 14. I was extremely glad I did, though it could have been potentially a trainwreck given the circumstances I dosed them in.

So, with that said, being young, and being inexperienced tripping at night when you gotta stay quiet, with limited mobility, could be asking for trouble. I recommend finding a better time and situation where you can get 6 hours either outside in a comfortable area with minimum to no interaction with the outside world, or when you know someones parents will be gone for at least 7-8 hours (just to make sure if they come home early, you still will be potentially down). I find with psychedelic drugs, you need the option of changing your environment in the heat of the moment. Being stuck in your room having to be quiet can be thought provoking (not in a good way) already, and if you get into set a bad thoughts that send you down a bad road, not being able to change your environment could lead you to getting busted (who'd want that during your first trip while in a negative state of mind).

I'm not saying it will be bad. My second trip I was alone tripping with my family sleeping in the house. It was easier to stay quiet when I wasn't communicating with another fellow tripper, but it still laid back in my mind that I had to tread carefully. The more experience I got, the less concerned I became about tripping inside.

bullshit to everyone saying no.

I'm not going to say yes or no - I'm going to tell you to do what you think you should do, as long as you've read up and have made an informed decision. I was certainly ready at 14, some people are just precocious - if you're seeking an interesting, profound, or even just novel/fun experience, then shrooms will probably give you at least one or a combination of those.

do what you think you should do man. have fun! be safe.

I only suggested that if he wanted very strong visuals. And if he is looking to trip, idk how visuals will be uncomfortable. But hey, maybe that's just me.

Maybe tripping is just visuals too you, and yeah drinking a tea will give you more visuals possibly- but also more of everything else that goes with tripping. To me visuals are not the part of a trip that stands out the most, even when they're very prominent.
