OTTAWA — Military police said Wednesday they arrested and charged a dozen Canadian soldiers with operating what appears to have been a narcotics distribution ring from a military base in western Canada.

One corporal and 11 privates posted at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright in Alberta were charged with 70 counts of production, possession and distribution of narcotics, authorities told a nationally televised press conference.

The accused include three privates recently discharged from the military.
The group manufactured Dimethyltryptamine (DMT), a type of hallucinogenic drug, and distributed it, as well as ecstasy, cannabis, cocaine and prescription drugs to customers throughout western and northern parts of Canada, said a statement.

Health Canada tests confirmed samples seized from a laboratory were illicit drugs.
The case has been referred to the director of military prosecutions to decide whether to proceed with a court-martial, said an official.

always sucks when "narcotics" are seized but nothing hurts my soul as badly as a heroin bust...ruins my day, even though i'm sure it all makes its way back out to the streets.
 
a few weeks ago there was a $1,000,000 street priced bust down by me. but supply was only fucked up for like a day.
 
^^^ If they had left it in the plant it would have been totally legal under canadian law. Atleast i think so anyway. I could be wrong so don't quote me on that. I know mescaline is illegal but peyote and other cacti that it comes from is completely legal to posses in canada. But once you extract it it's a crime.

Also i don't know how hard it is to get heroin or even opium over from afghanistan but id be trying to find a way if i was in the army. Now theres some serious cash and with canadian law the penalties are pretty low for the profit margin involved.

army vehicles are the only ones that dont get checked at the borders, hells yea the army is importing tons.

in australia a very very healthy percentage of our cocaine comes straight from the army....and our profit margins are wayy huger than canada!

I used to get opium from a guy who came back from a tour..... It was good stuff, fairly cheap and he had enough to last a good 3 or 4 months..

Where do you think a lot of the drugs in the US comes from? Mexico only does so much and only supplies certain areas.

More drugs than you would think come from our neighbor to the north, as well as Asia and Europe.

Yeah hah we do share. A shit load of canadas drugs end up in the states, canada is the states biggest supplier of mdma.

I love that movie :D . I don't think this case is much like it though as the soldiers in Buffalo Soldiers where manufacturing heroin in Berlin before the fall of the wall while these guys where not even making "narcotics" 8) . I fucking hate that catch all term narcotics for every drug on the planet that isint alcohol :X . How are cannabis, MDMA, cocaine or for fuck sakes DMT narcotics in any other sense then the broadest terms? When i see "narcotics" mentioned i expect to see morphine or heroin mentioned not fucking MDMA.
