I recently *attempted* to extract 10mg of ritalin from a daytrana patch and after taking this, I felt major effects for only about 30 minutes. Would this be normal for a 10mg dosage of ritalin? I have little to no tolerance, but I do have experience with amphetamines. BTW, what I did was place the daytrana patch in water overnight and drank that water in the morning. It seemed as if most of what was on the patch had gone into the water. I'm asking this question because im not sure if my extraction really worked.

I have no idea what a daytrana patch is or how water-soluble methylphenidate is, exactly, but I can tell you that 20 mg is considered to be a first timer's typical recreational dose.

Ritalin is a brand of pills containing methylphenidate. Daytrana are patches that contain methylphenidate. Daytrana patches do not contain Ritalin.

I have no idea how to extract MPH from those patches, but I wanted to point that out.

Ya I would say that is a low-dosage and this drug is pretty weak and short acting in general. It is probably equal to Caffeine IMO at least lol.

In theory, yes - but it actually depends upon the inactive ingredients, and if they interfere with absorption.

UPDATE: Each patch actually contains 27.5mg of methlyphenidate, even though it says 10mg over 9 hours (1.1mg/hour). Im guessing this is because some is lost in the skin and through 2nd stage metabolism (or whatever its called). This must be why people get more effects from doing it orally. Orally, it doesnt seem to work very well for me. It would be really nice for someone to make a good guide on how to use these things to their full potential.

i have been shooting ritalin now for about 13 years i just cant seem to stop is there any other drugs that i could try that works better than ritalin

i ve similiar experience with desoxypipradrol (18h half-life) which is related to mph, it affects my body for 12 hours but it can t keep my mind awake for more than a half or one hour, i just get tired and have no problem to start sleeping later on.

it is no matter of underdosing, i m fully awake in this hour but afterwards the effects extinguish within minutes. maybe because i find this substance overall boring, if i m not entertained it won t keep me awake.

First off, we're not here to choose your next high for you... there are lots of drugs that are similar to methylphenidate, stronger, etc.

Other Drugs is a harm reduction forum so please only post questions that generate harm reduction discussion. For further clarification, see the guidelines and standards links in my signature.

Lastly, please don't bump an old, dead thread on a quasi-related topic to ask your question... if you have a question its best to first use the search engine and check the directory because its probably been covered before. If you've thoroughly exhausted these options and its about basic issues such as dosages, side effects, combination, etc. then its better off in Basic Drug Discussion. If its a little more advanced and harm reduction-focused, then its appropriate for Other Drugs.

If you have any questions about the forum, feel free to private message me any time.
