100mg diphenhydramine 80mg codeine

my tolerance to benadryl(used as a sleep aid for some time) has made 50 mg rather weak, i'm not taking kratom for the first time in awhile this week and have been taking moderate-low doses of codeine on occasion when i get tempted to make an impulse trip to my vendor, taking the diphen along with it to potentiate and to take care of whatever side effects that may or may not appear, what do you think? i figure 100 won't be too high given such a low dose on the codeine end.

Doubling your dose of diphenhydramine will increase the effects you get from it, but I wouldn't recommend it. It shouldn't be physically harmful at those doses but you might end up feeling a lot more sleepy or feeling some of the negative delirient effects that diphenhydramine can produce. You say you are planning on doing this on the way to your vendor? I would strongly recommend against driving whilst on 100mg of diphenhydramine.

nah sorry, ya reading my question over again i see how you got confused, am taking the codeine in order to avoid trips to the vendor,as my tolerance to kratom has been getting high lately. i have taken 100mg diphenhydramine many times before on it's own and in conjunction with kratom, have never experienced deliriant side effects at this dose. my question is if 100mg is too high a dose if taken with 80mg of codeine, but i think i got my answer. thanks anyway.

There shoudn't be any danger combining the two at those doses, but diphenhydramine will potentiate the codeine, but not enough to be dangerous.

Codeine is a prodrug which must be converted into Morphine and C6G in order to have any real effect. Diphenhydramine inhibits CYP2D6, an important liver enzyme involved in the metabolism of Codeine > Morphine, thus, Diphenhydramine will reduce the effects of the Codeine.

C6G is responsible for all, or at least the vast majority of the analgesia that codeine provides. Codeine itself is also responsible for some of the analgesia, I believe. It's not like "heroin" (morphine diacetate), which is a true prodrug that's entirely dependent upon morphine for the analgesia and the high.

^^I'm fully aware of all this. I didn't say anything to the contrary in my post and I don't really see the relevance of further explicating the effects of Codeine's metabolites.

I was responding to the initial question, which was about the effects of DPH on Codeine. DPH will reduce the effects of Codeine, for the same reason I stated in my first post.

It is also my understanding that Morphine is a factor - that Morphine is responsible for a considerable portion of Codeine's euphoric effects and that M6G and M3G are also thought to contribute to the analgesic effects of Codeine. I think it would be remiss to entirely dismiss the notion that Morphine is a contributing factor to the effects of Codeine, just like it would be remiss to entirely dismiss the notion that Dihydromorphine is a contributing factor to the effects of Dihydrocodeine - minor metabolites, "but metabolites nonetheless", thus my initial statement: DPH will reduce the effects of Codeine.

12:40 - Taken 180 mg of Codeine Phosphate .

13:30 - Started feeling slightl relaxation and warmth , no euphoria after 50 minutes i've taken the codeine .

14:00 Effects starting to wear off and i feel an urge to take some more codeine .

I don't take codeine daily , only 4 days aprox. after my last recreational dosage .

Why can i feel any euphoria even at 375 mg of codeine ?
