What is intelligence I guess. Numbers seems to believe in a beneficent definition of it. I would somewhat agree, that is, so long as we differentiate IQ from intelligence.

I believe that we are a beneficent species, but I believe that ensuring that everyone's basic needs are met requires intelligence.
Certainly we can at least figure out a way to bring adequate health care to all. If that comes at the expense of a few millionaires, so what? If people are dying due to lack of access to medicine, should we allow people to enrich themselves through medicine?

$8M a year? That might seem like a lot but is really sweet fuck all compared to the dollars that the big pharmaceutical companies drag in.
$8M is more than any abortionist makes though, no doubt about it. BTW they did this with abortionists back in the 1960s too, coppers would conduct raids and if they could find some way to technically "breach" them they'd have them in the clink without any trouble.
They also do this with assisted suicide cases.
These are gray areas and there doesn't appear to be any consensus on what needs to be done.
A court case a la Roe vs Wade needs to be forthcoming to put a final and complete end to this bullshit once and for all. Privacy is not just about abortion, not as far as I'm concerned, it's about drugs and assisted suicide too. But alas only abortion is legal, the other two are illegal. Why? Abortion has been legal for 40+ years. WTF is going on?

Medical Dispensaries are supposed to be Non-Profit in California.
Revenue != profit.
Of the 8 mil in revenue if he was netting a profit of 10-20-30% percent he would be making a profit of 800k, 1.6mil, and 2.4 mil respectively. Running a retail operation is expensive... rent, salary, security, tax, accounting, marketing, etc.... I doubt he was clearing more than 20%.
And then you figure, what kind of legal bills does this dude pay.
Lots of medicinal clubs are non-profit, although they make profit (if they set prices to make no profit, they would run out fast by undercutting the market and patients that need meds would be turned away) because they give the profits back to their members in forms of benefits/product/etc, I saw one dispensary that had a message room for clients....

In my country, someone who has a history of molesting children or sexual crimes, are allowed out on a suspended sentence, while someone who is caught for a succesful fraud that netted $$ can get 20years. Now does this make sense....this is what it is, Capitalism.
