10 oc 80's enough to OD??

if theres no known LD50 for mice/rats though, it may be a pretty high number. i'm wondering about all the people that ended up dying from taking oc's though. like if they mostly had other drugs in their system, or zero tolerance to opiates, or both. i have a tolerance to opiates (60-80 mg oxy a day) and anything about 80 mg at once, i'll start to feel like i'm being poisoned or something.

but maybe thats just me.

knowing that the ld50 of hydrocodone is so high is really interesting.
 
^ Right, LD50 numbers for mice/rats should only be taken with a grain of salt. However, they can give you a very rough idea as to what a safe dose of a drug might be.

I was gonna post and say there is no LD50 for straight opiate/oioid agonist, as you can, as long you slowly up the dose, go as high as who knows what!*

In a study (I think this may have already been said) in Sweden or Switzeland they give heroin uses unlimited access to pharm' grade heroin/diamorphine and the highest the users went was to 2g's!

Regarding my LD50 comment, everyone, even those who haven't taken opi's, have different tolerances, for example apparently (I think it was on pubmed or on a google study search, Oriental/Chinese people have higher tolerances then most other 'races' (I hate that word, we're all the same race! It should be changed to ethnicity) do. So even though here in the UK in A&E they shoot people up with 10mg of morphine (Not sure how much they use when they use dia', which they do!) some people obviously can handle alot more, even though they've never taken opi's!

*This is not the same for codeine and dihydrocodeine as they have ceiling doses, as they're converted to morphine and dihydromorphine.**

I suppose it is possible to have survived if you have a tolerance, what a tolerance is, actually is a defense mechanism of the body. Once a harmful substance is introduced the body makes chemical changes so that the next time it's introduced it affects you less and your system remains closer to homeostasis. It really has nothing to do with you "needing more," your body is actually doing what it is supposed to. Therefor, if one had a significant tolerance, the body could be prepared enough to survive something like that.

I guess when you think about how much play there is with tolerance anything is possible. First time user though I think merely a few 80's would mean death regardless of size, diet, anything.

Anyone know if it's possible to snort tramadol?

I don't know exactly how tolerance works but that doesn't sound right...a defense mechanism to a harmful substance?
 
^ agree, and plus I have heard of chances for siezures being higher when Tramadol/Ultram is insulfated. I only use it for w/d when I have it on hand and no other dope or pills.

800mg of oxycontin would kill anyone under 400pds that wasnt an addict, and probably would kill 90% of addicts.

You can snort anything, however tramadol will not be effective at all insuffilated.

I bumped a very small amount once and it burned and had a horrible taste/smell/drip. Don't do it.
 
One local 17 year old girl died from 1 uncrushed oc 80.....

So, what does that tell you?
