I'll spare you from the story because I can hardly remember any of it, but I took like 6 to 10 mg of Xanax. I didn't do anything horrible, but I felt horrible the next day and took another one. Is there a risk of brain damage or anything? And if not, then how long to recover? Because I still feel slightly groggy.

Xanax, I really don't see why people take it other than anxiety.

Did you take this yesterday? That's a hefty dose so it's not uncommon to have the hangover effect the next day. I don't think you have brain damage, I mean you didn't stop breathing and you're still with us. Generally, you just feel sluggish and that's pretty much to be expected from a big dose like that. So in the future, don't take so much.

Never again, thank you. I don't know if it was ten milligrams or less I can hardly remember, but I hadn't gotten much sleep lately either.
There could have been some non-permanent damage to long term memory, yesterday was a killer. But I hope I do better and have hope it will get better with adequate sleep and abstinence.

Speaking of the day I took that it was yesterday. I'll keep this updated. I'm sure there are others who would like to know because of similar circumstances.

I slept for the whole day, except when my girlfriend woke me up and knew something was wrong so we just layed there and talked while I was all fucked up... I barely remember taking the pills but they are 3 mg each. I don't know whether I should taper off or not considering the short amount of time I was on it. I should mention they aren't mine and I binge for 4 days: day 1: 3 mg day 2: 9 mg? Day 3: ? Day 4: .75 mg

You have nothing to worry about as far as brain damage goes, groundunit. It is good that you don't want anything more to do with them, though. Benzos can be a very difficult habit to break if you eat them on a regular basis. If you've only taken them a few times, you don't need to take more to taper off. Just don't take any more and say bye-bye to benzos.

Thank you, I feel much better now. It took a lot of sleep lol I still feel a little out of it but sleep is a great healer

hey if you didn't lose your wallet, phone, car keys, break up with your girlfriend or wake up in jail, which one of those usually happens if i take that many benzos, sounds like an ok night to me. i love benzos, so damn addictive tho and such awful memory related side effects i cant take em anymore unfortunately lol

I think as mentioned above, that you only suffer brain damage if you stop breathing which obviously didn't happen. 10mg of xanax is a very very high dose though (at least IMO). Whenever I take xanax I only take 2-4mg and I take benzo's every day. For some reason xanax just knocks me out and I can't even enjoy it recreationally. Like you said, it really is best for just anxiety. My favorite recreational benzo is diazepam (valium). However, there is no real "recovery" stage because you didn't take enough to cause any serious harm. Remember it is nearly impossible to overdose on benzos unless combining them with other CNS depressants such as any opiates or barbs or making a benzo cocktail. You'll be fine. I suggest just taking it easy today and eating all the food in your house lol. That's what I do when I'm on a benzo come down.

Alprazolam does not cause brain damage and you don't need to taper off if you've only been taking them for four days.

i dont think it can cause brain damage...i took about 10 2mg xanax in a few hours...ended up overdosing but here was no problems after i woke up.
