I am now home for the summer from college and living at home. I go to work 40 hrs a week. When I got back from school I started getting small chunks of bupe from a buddy. Things were great, and I was definately getting high off of the bupe and feeling good on the days that i used it. I didnt use it EVERY day, maybe every 3 days. Never felt any withdrawal before.

Well last weekend on Friday while hanging out with my buddy I obtained a FULL 8mg bupe pill. We were snorting and smoking dope and snorting 30 mg roxy. I was excited to have the bupe so I wouldnt feel like shit on Sat morning AND i could be faded the next week. %) Smooth, right? NOO :! This pill lasted me Friday through Friday. The lines of bupe i was snorting continued to increase bc i had the WHOLE pill. What an idiot I am. Just one full week of continued bupe snorting has me where I am now.

The day after I killed the bupe, I got a hold of 3 30mg ROXY little blue guys. I did two of them on Sunday, and one on monday.

I started to feel the withdrawal on Monday (DAY 1), but i had no idea i felt so shitty bc of withdrawal.. I thought that maybe I was just sick. So i went home and did my remainin roxy 30. made me feel good until i woke up tuesday (DAY 2) for work.

Day 1--- intense hot flashes and cold flashes, sweating, restless legs and arms and my brain just wont calm down. Hard to sleep! wanna jump outta my skin. actually got 5 hrs of sleep after taking an ambien from my dad.

Day 2-- hot and cold flashes-- temperature will not stabilize.. very very uncomfortable and i feel like i am wired.. Heart is beating so hard and fast and I cannot sleep at ALL. my body feels like it is about to run off the start line in a foot race. Hard to sleep! wanna jump outta my skin. actually got 5 hrs of sleep after taking an ambien from my dad.

Day 3-- hot and cold flashes have gone away for the most part body is irritable and queezy. hard to sit still. I exercised and took a shower but I only got a total of 3 hrs of sleep-- TORTURE fell asleep at 11 and woke up at 2AM and wasnt able to go back to sleep

Day 4-- mild hot cold flashes. I NEED SLEEP but cannot sleep!!my body is killing me. It hurts and my hear will not stop beating like a mad man!! Is this normal?? my blood pressure must be sky high

I didnt use the bupe for very long, but I guess a week of 1mg per day is long enough. Will i recieve any mercy on my withdrawal because i didnt use for over 6 months like most of you. Anybody have the same problem as me??

BTW i do not have addiction problems... havent even thoughT about taking another pill to stop this madness. THIS IS A WAKE UP CALL:! :! its the POINT OF NO RETURN!! I NEVER KNEW I WOULD FEEL THIS TERRIBLE. THEREFORE, I WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN

Sounds like normal opiate withdrawal. At least you didn't get to dry heaving every ten minutes for that entire time because there's nothing left to vomit.

Try coming off of a three year IV heroin & dilaudid addiction (shooting up three times a day) in county jail. A week before I could keep food down or sleep for more than minutes (or have a bowel movement, then it bleeds once it breaks its way through)

Yea you should feel lucky.
At least you know what WD feels like, so I imagine it'll be a big deterrent to any longterm use.
After one year of my back pain meds I was in hell when the doctor decided I shouldn't take them anymore because, "It might be becoming a problem."

thanks for replies!

YES I do feel lucky now that I am putting things in perspective. This was probably a .5 on a scale of 10... however it was still an awful experience. I don't understand people that want to use after going through such torture. But I know addiction is no joke.

I feel GREAT today Day 5 (thank god) because I finally got a night of sleep. Doc gave me a script of ambien yesterday for sleepand my buddy sold me 4 xanax bars. I only woke up once in the middle of night.... ate a mg of xanax and smoked tons of beautiful west coast buds to put my mind right and I went back to sleep!! Just stomach aches a bit today.. NO hot cold flashes yet. Heart beat seems to be normal thank jesus... the xanax definitely helped.. Any idea when normal sleep will be back? Without drug inducing? Remember I wasn't on the bupe for that long.... but I was blowing 30 mg roxys along the way

Nagelfar- you must be a warrior for enduring that fucking hell. I can't even imagine your suffering especially in jail... just hoped you learn from it and quit the dope! Smoke weed instead!

Macbrown- when did the doc cut you off? Did he taper you off the pills? Are you now in wdn
now? I bet sleeping is hell... that was my worst for me.

very true thomas, very true. sucks i had to learn the hard way but i learned a lesson: dont fuck with suboxone. ill leave it to all the true dope addicts who might actually need it.

def don't snort it...i don't understand why that's so popular with folks. the BA is lower than sublingual admin if i'm not mistaken. but i'll agree with u aquaman, w/d from subs is bad bad bad, probably worse than something like oxy or opana.

i've withdrawn from all of these.

No not at all, it's kind of a thing enforced upon you that you must endure, no matter even if you're the furthest thing from a warrior, or hang yourself with the sheets they give you (which went through my head as a thought on a nightly basis)

The problem is, once you get to that level of addiction, you're willing to jump into it again because you like it so much, not the withdrawal, but the relief. To a heroin addict the withdrawal being taken away instantly is part of the high.... remember when you were a little child, and you had a bad flu, and wished it would just go away right that second as if by magic? But your parents explained they wished so to but you have to just ride it out, that it doesn't go away like that? Well the heroin addict can live out this childhood dilemma that was impossible in context, just by scoring a bag. All your immature impatience about the negative aspects in life, suddenly become answered and realized and corrected, in heroin, constantly, and on a daily basis.

chair-- if hell exists (which it doesnt) and i go to hell... it will be an eternal sub withdrawal. Sure all opiate withdrawals are awful.. but this bupe withdrawal is CRAZY long.... how long till you were able to sleep after wd from bupe?.... how did it compare to oxy opana w/d? and yes, snorting it definitely does some serious damage to just about everything,, sucks tho, if there is anything i am addicted to it is just the act of snorting powder... swallowing to weak and IV WAY TOO HARDCORE for me ..NEVER EVER... like i said i am a college student who is somewhat "normal" (debatable)

i feel you about the college student circumstances. umm, sleep really never got back to "normal" because even when I began to start to be able to sleep a full night, it'd be filled with dreams about taking pills or subs. then i'd wake up craving like a motherfucker and not be able to fall back asleep. enter xanax and ativan...after i started benzos i got sleep but it wasn't the healthiest. i wouldn't reccomend taking benzos for this, at least not for very long. they do work though.

i really feel for you a-man. bupe WD just seems to last so long compared to other opiates/opioids. IMO you should have tapered down on the bupe as much as possible. for example the 2nd time i came off subs, i was down to 1/2 mg every other day then i just took the jump and felt shitty for only 2 days. it was a MUCH better method of quitting.

Dreams about hard drugs are the worst for a clean individual. I have constant dreams where I am waiting forever to score a bag, and then my friend she walks in with it, throws me my piece, I draw it up, put it in my arm, push the plunger down, and wake up in a drowsy state thinking "damn that was a bad time to leave that.... wait it wasn't real, I waited all that time for a bag and it was a dream??", or my latest one, I was taking a hit of crack (I shoot coke usually, have done that once ever in my life), and just as I took a huge inhalation, my heart starts beating fast, and I wake up with my heart pounding, but absolutely no euphoria, like I'm in withdrawal.

Benzo addiction; at least hardcore benzo addiction, is worse than opiate addiction from what I've been witness to. People who have been doing it on a prescription for a long time say withdrawal is like being unable to breathe in a vacuum, with severe anxiety and perpetual panic, and they have seizures.

sublingal= 30%

Nasal=70%

IV=100%(subutex/temgesic or buprenex,allthough it can be argued that the nalaxone content of Subuxone is overpowered by buprenorphine at the receptors..)

I was prescribed subutex 24 mg a day for a year and got locked up and couldnt have them. I thought it was gonna be horrible and it was but not nearly as bad as a heroin withdrawal or opana. It took about a month before i could sleep through a whole night without waking constantly but i never got the vomiting or diaherra. I do remember having cold chills for the longest time though(prob 2 weeks at least).

But whenever i withdrew from heroin another time i got locked up it was way more intense. I slept like 2-3 hours a night at most for the first 10 days and couldnt eat for at least 3 days. I also remember having suicidal thoughts during that withdraw. I believe the heroin contributed to that but also it was my first time in jail too so it didnt help to be coming off a 200-300 dollar a day habit of heroin.

IMO a opana withdraw doesnt last as long as the other two but is very intense and comes on fast, as quick as a few hours after the last use. With heroin, withdrawal kicks in about 12 hours later and after 24 hours its full on.

Bupe withdrawal is very gradual and what u thought was a withdrawal the first or second day wasnt shit compared to what your going through the 3rd and 4th day without. All in all I've been able to cope with a bupe withdrawal way easier than heroin or opana.
