So basically I've had 33 mg of clonazepam spread throughout a period of 1 week and a half.
Does anyone know if this can cause any serious withdrawal symptoms or anything?

I have no tolerance to benzos by the way.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Matt

Usually it takes more than just a week or two to develop a psychical dependency, especially when you've never had one before. However, I have known people to pick up a habit much quicker so it is possible.

Splitting 33mg over e.g. 10 days gives 3.3mg a day. Most non-tolerant people that I've seen taking clonazepam needed 2mg at most to be completely wasted and amnesiac for hours. Anyway, given the total dose it may take a few days before levels of clonazepam become low enough for you to feel any possible symptoms of BZD withdrawal, in this case it shouldn't be anything more than some anxiety and problems with sleeping.

Before I had a benzo habit I once ingested 75mg of clonazepam with zero tolerance on one go, a suicide attempt. I survived, but I had a sort of "comedown" withdrawal thingy for some time after that. It was a HELLISH experience, seriously. I stayed awake for nights laying in my bed eyes closed filled with FEAR and I didn't know even what I was afraid of, it was just pure fear and terror. Most terrible anxiety of my life probably, and I shit you not, my tongue actually had this yeast like thingy on it because of the clonazepam. All kinds of other weird wd symptoms too.

My point is, sometimes you get in trouble for consuming a huge amount of drugs even if it's over a short period of time. You may be okay, or may not. It depends a lot on your personal chemistry. Clonazepam tends to stay in your system for a long time so there's plenty of time to de-sensitize your receptors and cause down-regulation resulting in some sort of adverse effects.

I agree, though its important to recognize that everyone responds differently as to how long it takes to form a physical dependency (I'm directing that to the OP).

I imagine that even with the high dosing (especially for a benzo naive individual), 10 or so days is probably just enough time to avoid dependency, and if you do experience any withdrawals, they will likely be relatively mild. However, its important to note that clonazepam is different from other benzodiazepines like alprazolam, Triazolam or lorazepam in that it has a pretty significantly longer half life.

This means that (as Adder stated) that clonazepam withdrawal can take a few days to hit upon abrupt discontinuation. IME, its around 60 hours that I begin to feel uncomfortable and after 72 hours the withdrawal really hits me. For benzodiazepines like diazepam (which has an even longer half life), it can take up to a whole week or longer (depending on dosages) for withdrawal to hit.

So, you'll know whether or not your in the clear after three days for sure if you have only minor (or no) WD symptoms, because from my experiences and many others, its at the 72 hour mark where the withdrawal starts to hit and they are very noticeable..

If you do find yourself suffering from intense WD I would suggest trying to obtain some diazepam or some more clonazepam to taper down further (although a rapid taper would be best in this situation I would imagine). It's important to always be aware of the risks of benzo Dependancy/withdrawal just because the WD can cause seizures and even be fatal.

Yes, at this point I have 10 mg of clonazepam left so I am just going to completely stop using any, and if I find I am getting w/d, then Ill split the pills into 4ths and taper down.

You will experience withdrawal I would be amazed if you did not.

Yea I dunno about being amazed if he didn't. I wouldn't be in the slightest surprised if he doesn't experience withdrawal. 10 days is barely any time at all, even if his dosages were slightly high.

I will tell you though OP, I went through ~45mgs of etizolam in about a week in a half, and experienced flu like symptoms for 2 days after I ran out. This was with the mouth dissolving tablets, cherry flavored. So obviously I went through them like candy :P They also seemed to have little effect.

Hmm. So from what I gather, I may experience some withdrawal, I may not, but it won't be extreme.

I'm afraid of becoming insane and having seizures. That's all

I became insane due to benzo withdrawal. (was on no other drugss at the time). My psyche was messed up, I was scatterbrained, I wanted to die, I suffered derealiztion..... and I was only on for about 5 weeks total when I stopped my 1mg of klonopin a day..... withdrawal lasted a feww months too..... there's nothing linear about benzo withdrawal.... it's the most insidious, sickest thing anyone will ever experience. Quit while you're ahead.

While there is always a chance... I highly doubt that a week and a half of benzo use is going to produce withdrawals severe enough to cause seizures or any kind of delirium.

If I were to guess, you'll get some increased anxiety and insomnia, but both shouldn't last too long. I highly doubt your use was enough to cause seizures after quitting.

I've been on them for years at 3mg a day. Some months Ive taken them all in the first week or so and I don't feel true w/ds. Maybe I'll wish I had more but not any physical symptoms. That being said everyone reacts to drugs differently. It's a intermediate to long acting benzo so it won't be as acute as xanax would be for example. I have epilepsy also and I dont suffer from more seizures when coming off of them, I'm not on them specificly for that though.

No you might not feel good for a couple days or kinda feel depressed it will take a little bit to get back to normal but just a couple days, if you took 3 mg xanax for a year then had to stop abruptly it could be dangerous but not not after 33mg, just learn and quit taking them. There are many herbal alternatives you may want to consider.

After 1 week benzo use, no you'l be fine. If you went on for maybe 3 more weeks, you'd be in trouble.

Mentally, you may be a little on edge. Physically, you will be fine I should thing.

Yea, klonipine would take a while to get addicted to.stopping abruptly might give you some panic attacks, but they would pass. You might get this feeling of despair, after waking up, but that would pass too.
You probably wouldn't have that problem, it's just a possibility

I wounldnt worry either. You may feel shit, and if you could get your hands on say 10 10 mg valium pills and take 30 ish mgs a day for 3 days u wont notice any w/d id think.

Yes if you were to consider tapering down (though probably unnecessary with how short of a time you've been using for) Diazepam would be a good choice to do it with given its long half-life. It is suited well to detoxing. So is Chlordiazepoxide and Lorazepam.
