My doctor was open to trying Ketamine, which has helped a bit. He also mentioned GHB as well.
I've read of people who took 2 or 3 small dosages a day, which prevented them from getting tolerant. I don't mind dependence, as long as it actually works. I thought the problem developed a when people start using it day & night, basically a 24/7 regime, get tolerant & dependent then it starts making them feel like shit for the whole day no matter what.
I don't drink alcohol & have never been addicted to anything in my life. So I think I would have the self discipline not to go overboard.
If it is truly the *best* drug for Social Anxiety & you have consistent, legal access to it *&* you have already epic failed over 30 drugs including multiple MAOIs & the last resort treatment Elecroconvulsive therapy...wouldn't it be a good idea to give it a trial?Saku39

Have you tried all the benzodiazepines?
There are very few things that are. I've tried xanax, klonopin & ativan. Not asking for a cure here. But certain things can reduce symptoms.Saku39

Was that using large amounts of the drug daily? Round the clock? I'm just figuring out whether small amounts would have a helpful effect. It could be everybody is different & that determines whether or not it causes problems as well.GTnV

I was dosing right when I woke up and having another couple of doses over the 6 hours or so before I had to go to work. I'd go all the way through 8 hours of work without dosing. Then, after work I'd dose 1-2 more times. I was using 2-4ml per dose. I used 4 fl. Oz total over ~ a month.
Saku39 if your doc is open to Ketamine by all means give that a shot my friend. Ket has shown promising results in treating chronic neuropathic pain and other CNS/PNS conditions, including anxiety and depression.
As for benzo's, they lose anxiolytic efficacy rather quickly, some as short as 3-weeks. If you are truly open to anything there is some evidence that deep-brain stimulation or vagus nerve stimulation can help and in some cases lead to lasting remission.
Some ppl also swear by gabapentin as a daily-dosed anxiolytic but it seems to be more effective with generalized anxiety as opposed to social anxiety.
Beta-blockers can be used to treat the physiological symptoms associated with anxiety...sweating, elevated BP/HR etc.
I suffer from anxiety too and after years of trying nearly every pharmacological approach short of MAOI's, the fucked thing is that nothing seems to be a permanent solution.robatussin

I appreciate all the advice. One thing to suggest is trying the MAOI Nardil, it has a better shot of working than just about all other anti-depressants for anxiety. It has side effects like food restrictions, drug interactions, weight gain...but these can be gone just by being careful & exercising right.
If you've already heard it before, I will just reiterate that(in my personal opinion) it's a good idea to try for someone who suffers from Chronic anxiety. This is not just a quick, fleeting suggestion of something that might work. It has the #1 efficacy in Social Anxiety for any drug & is considered the "gold standard" for it(Around 65% I think for Social Phobia people). Its surprising how many people try so many things, but never give it a shot.
In response to Robotussin, we all share a variety of feelings like happiness, anxiety, hate, depression etc. But imagine if someone experienced extreme hate all day, every day, for years. Would that be a healthy, natural thing? No. It would destroy them. I understand that the mindset must be changed, not just the state of the mood. After having so much anxiety & depression for so long, your bound to have an inaccurate view of things, even if your mood goes back to normal.ILOVETORELAX

No, he gave it for Depression & anxiety. I have already tried essentially every regular antidepressant in existence & done ECT & they didn't work. The Monkey Mantra

Lucky you. Consider yourself the outlier, though. Message to anyone reading this? Don't think you're gonna react like this guy. You'll definitely get withdrawals.dread

But what would be the effects of ingesting gamma-hydroxy-butyraldehyde? If I understand correctly, BDO first gets metabolized to this (let's call it GHBA for short) which then gets metabolized to GHB. So if you just directly take the GHBA you would have one less step of metabolization needed to have GHB in your body.
Has anyone anywhere ever experimented with GHBA?robatussin
