1/10 people receive a stimulating high from opiates?

Once upon a time, a doctor told me that 1 out of 10 people experience stimulation when on opiates. The other 9, rather than getting a speedy high, feel heavy sedation. For me, I can clean a house when on opiates, but most of my friends do indeed get rather tired. Was my doctor's claim legitimate? Based on the variety of people I know that do opiates, his estimate seems valid. Let me know your thoughts on this matter.

yall... when i shoot dope i get RETARDED, being goofy, dancing, running around and shit.
i usually end up feeling flirty/horny and texting dumb shit when i shouldn't and spit'n game at teh wiminz
it's ridic.

i'd say the above happens fairly frequently but if i'm not well rested i'll definitely be nod'n out.

I initially get some stimulation when I do opiates, especially the first hour or two, and especially with oxycodone.
 
When I first began my romance with opiates, a perceived stimulation was present. Later on down the line, not so much. Upon further analysis of the situation, it really seems the 'stimulation' I felt, was more of an effect from the euphoria that was present with opiate use in the beginning, that is no longer there as of the present. In the presence of said euphoria, a motivation that is normally lacking would almost overwhelm me; Yes, I was sedated, but I had a desire to accomplish and achieve. Pursing this desire gave the illusion of stimulation, but in fact, I think it is safe to say that 100% of the time, I could just as easily sit down and nod out on the couch, in the bed, etc. When I use now, I don't get that euphoria, that drive, to do things, and accomplish. All that is present is the sedating effect of the opiate.

Yeah opiates wire me to the fucking gills uaually.... I also get the fucking goofyness I will spit game and talk shit like its noones business. Alot of people have told me that they thought I was on speed or something the way I am hyped up and doing shit... Now this is only initally becuase after a little bit I will nod like fuck
 
For me, any dose below what I need to get a wicked nod will end up with more of a stimulant affect. I like to workout on percocet.
 
Yea, the stimulation/motivation it's mostly from the massive dopamine release following agonism of mu or delta opioid receptors. Dopamine is also responsible for the euphoria and warmness. Some opioids also have effect on DA more directly, or NE such as tramadol or demerol. Also following the IV administration of any drug, their is an adrenaline rush.
 
I Feel Like Shit in the morning before I dose,Then an hour after Dosing I get Super Energized and Extremely Fucking Hungry,it never Fails...I usually combine these by Going for a walk to Mcdonalds:D


I also notice Different Opiates make me feel Different, Oxycodone gives me a Stimulating high and makes me Feel Like socializing and Morphine/Hydromorphone,make me Nod and want to stay home and smoke Cigs and weed lol
 
I don't understand why someone would want to move around on opiates. All my friends want to be active and talkative while on them while I want to sit or lay down motionless without speaking a word (ruining my nod, leave me alone when Im on opiates).

I guess I should also note that I am not a "people person" on or off drugs. I'm perfectly content being a loner.
 
It goes both ways for me. i usually love taking them at work but I have fun taking them at home and just chilling. I guess it depends on the environment I'm in. At work I'm always active so when I take them at work I can bust my ass. At home I don't want to do anything but go on my computer or watch a movie. Kind of weird but that's how it usually goes...
 
Depends on whats happening I suppose

Sometimes Ill feel doped out from when it hits me..just the typical tired/ slouch feeling

But sometimes Ill feel like a million dolla. and holla. moving around, talkative, all that. and 2 hour or so later ill be tired feeling good on the couch
 
i have been on opiates over 9 yrs now.starting with street drugs,H to OC,dones.The last 2 years i have legit doc's,take 8 30's a day with some morph.Without this ( not sick ) i have no energy and will do nothing!With my meds i motorboat all day,getting everything accomplished.The only time i nod is if i mix with bars,drink,or iv large amounts of morph.But to answer your question,me and my back injury battling friends all recieve our energy from large doses of opiates.Especially the roxy's.I know it is the tolerance,when i was younger i could bite little chips off an 80 oc and nod all night,now nodding is hard to achieve by just opiates.

Opiates also seem to affect people who are new to them and people who are dependent differently...When I first started using,I would need to lay down and nod or I would puke...Now That I am addicted,I Seem to need my dose for energy.
 
i nod from dill or H...but oxies kind of give me a peppy almost 'coke-y' feeling. but often that turns into a nod anyeway. assuming nod doesnt just mean 'nodding your head tiredly', but also when your vision is blurred and you're kind of stuck in a delicious sweet crystalline aquarium of some sort
 
I dont have the energy anymore. i did 3 roxy 30s yesterday and felt really nothing so later I did 1 1/2 more and i nodded out for a while. So its a fine line for me between not feeling anything and being out for the night...........that sucks because my addiction is growing more and more everyday................i need help
 
I think that just means that 1 in 10 people have ADD.

I have add... i receive a stimulating high from everything.. weed, opiates, alcohol. The only thing that doesnt stimulate me is stimulants, although enough of those will stimulate anyone.
