Yeah, anything psychoactive pretty much kills any chance I have of dreaming. I've heard people say that everything from weed to Valium to Benadryl gives them vivid dreams, but they have the opposite effect on me. (I have, however, had INSANE dreams when I was going through withdrawal from opioids, alcohol or benzos... when I was actually able to sleep!) There are only a few exceptions:
Nicotine Patch: I've had very intense dreams when I wore one to bed, but they also make it hard for me to fall asleep.
Phenibut: I had some trippy-@$$ dreams when I took a large dose before bed, but also woke up feeling like death so it wasn't worth it.
Mirtazapine (antidepressant): When I started taking it I had epic dreams (many lucid) for the first few weeks, then they stopped.

IIRC i did have a recent dream about getting drugs and it going to waste somehow. I guess that's a big worry of mine.
But yeah for the most part drugs kill mine too.
Your most recent dream sounds awesome. Mine are usually not so happy. Not necessarily sad either, just unfortunate or intense.

My parents and I moved around a lot when I was younger, so it's hard to tell where dreams like these take place...
July 10-11, 2020: "Moving Day/Trippy Airplane"
I was moving to a new home with my parents. We had to keep going between two houses, a motel and a storage facility to gather up all of our belongings, and I kept forgetting where I was going or what I was supposed to be doing. It ended up being something like 5am and I realized that we had been doing this for almost 24 hours straight. I was hungry and asked if we could stop at Burger King, but they didn't want to eat until all the moving was done. (I've been through this exact scenario many times in real life.) I came across some food in one of the boxes and had a bowl of baked beans with some bread to hold me over.
I was in some high-rise building surrounded by windows and an airplane landed on it for a minute just to amuse me. The plane was either see-through or open in the back and I could see that they had cats & dogs playing aboard, which I thought was really cool. I waved to them and they flew off.

I’d have to actually get some sleep to have any dreams to report and my intoxicated lucid dreaming is basically more drug consumption and porn which I won’t bother sharing in such a nice forum. What downers give the best dreams after knocking you out?

All downers kill my dreams, from alcohol to benzos to opioids to Benadryl. I actually just talked about that a few posts back. And of course uppers usually don't allow me to sleep at all. The only time that I have good vivid dreams is when I'm clean & sober. I'm glad that I have such a rich dreaming life, because it satisfies my desire for hallucinogens. I consider it to be a safe, natural way of "tripping".
The downside is that because I suffer from anxiety and insomnia when I'm stressed out, a lot of times I can't sleep at all. So it's a Catch-22; Do I lie awake all night with my mind racing or chemically knock myself out for a few hours of crappy dreamless sleep? My antidepressant Remeron (mirtazapine) is the one thing that helps me sleep and (usually) gives me good dreams, but a lot of people get horrible nightmares from it. I'm one of the lucky ones.

I had a vague one last night about trying to hide something (drugs? weapons?) in my closet and feeling really creeped out by it. There was a lot of detail but that's all that I can remember.

I had some crazy dreams last night. I know I'm forgetting some but here's what I remember...
July 13-14, 2020: "Survival Prep, My Cousin's Garden and a Fatal Illness"
I got a survival kit in the mail from an old friend of mine who was somewhat of a "prepper" in real life. It contained a few basic provisions, some kind of breathing apparatus and instructions on how to seek shelter in the case of an emergency. I was moved by the gesture because we had a falling out (in real life) a few years ago and I haven't spoken to him since.
I was at my cousin's and her husband was showing me his garden. He had just planted the seeds recently and they were just starting to sprout. I looked back at it a minute later and everything was fully grown.
There was a new disease going around that was 100% fatal. It started with a large infected growth somewhere on the body (like the bubonic plague), then death followed within a few days. I inspected myself and had one of the lesions on my right leg!

I think I had that harem in the dream. Thats propably what made it so special. Inb4 I get told again that harems are outdatedI saw a fucking wild one last night. Cant remember much about it though

I haven't had any memorable dreams in a week now. When this COVID situation got bad a few months ago I started using Klonopin, Benadryl and alcohol to help me sleep, but it was more like passing out so I don't think that I got much quality REM sleep. Now I've been tapering off of everything, so I haven't slept much at all because I'm still going through a bit of withdrawal. Hopefully my brain will get used to falling asleep naturally again eventually and I'll start to have some cool dreams again.

July 14-15, 2020: My best friend from my late teens was hanging out in my room. My closet was stocked full of liquor bottles and it concerned him, so I tried explaining that I didn't even remember buying them. Then I lit up a joint and he gave me a look of disapproval, which made me feel really awkward. (He was very anti-drug in real life.)
July 18-19, 2020: I was driving home and there were ad campaign signs for local politicians painted on the road.
July 21-22, 2020: I was looking for something to eat late at night but everything I saw contained cheese. (I'm vegan.)
July 23-24, 2020: (GROSS ALERT) I threw up in the sink after eating and drinking too much beer. My mom walked in as I was trying to clean it up and I felt ashamed. I wrote down the phone number to cosmetology school because I wanted to get a license to do hair, then realized that there isn't much of a demand for barber shops these days.

I dunno yo, I dreamt that I was on a boat and she because she was a women - she told me to turn off boat lights and I didn't want to and I wanted to leave that place for some unknown reason and she said that she can't open because she wanted to kill me - she was afraid of jail and I said uhmm

I usually knock myself out enough that I don't remember my dreams much anymore but yesterday I forgot to take some diazepam before bed for anxiety and woke up several times in the morning after weird/odd/strange dreams hyperventilating and feeling anxious. Couldn't tell if it was the weird nature of the dreams or the result of my permanently enlarged tonsils causing sleep apnea. Either way it sucked.

Man I had the weirdest dream just then.
I was out at some type of public festival thing, a live show was about to start but for some reason I decided to leave. As I was leaving I saw this guy who I absolutely love and adore and totally have the hots for out the corner of my eye but I keep walking. I stop and look at these gorillas just out in the wild doing gorilla things and start to take a photo when hands go over my eyes and Vlad says “hey you’re here” and turned to look at him and was like “hi!” And he immediately said “bye” and started walking away so I repeated “hi” twice more and he said “bye” twice more so I followed him and was about to ask why he was leaving when suddenly I saw him get a long bit of wood out of the back of a ute with a dog on the other side holding it by a rope (adorable) and as he walks back toward me he’s like “a shipment just came in today” and I’m like “oh!” Then suddenly the wood was gone and we were walking back toward the festival when a hot tall blonde girl who knew me came to say hi to me and I immediately thought “... Vlad is totally gonna like her... “ So I say hi and talk to this girl and tell her who he is and how great he is kinda trying to set them up for some reason (you have no idea how much I adore this guy and want him for myself). So then she starts talking to Vlad and Vlad is actually interested but totally blowing it with the worst attempt at flirting ever! Terrible pick up lines- I can’t remember what they were anymore. I was totally cringing and like “dude, no, you’re doing it all wrong”... Next thing you know the hot blonde is walking with me and telling me how much she loves him. She’s about to get in an elevator and I’m like almost furious like “you CANT love him, you only just MET him, you don’t know anything about him, what’s his favourite colour?! What’s his last name?! These are things you should know about someone before loving them!” And storm off to rejoin Vlad whose getting in a different elevator but before I could get in the doors just mysteriously shut and reopen and hes gone....
I take the next elevator down all disappointed he’s gone again and talk to some old guy in the elevator. I must have walked somewhere because next thing you know I’m in my deceased grandfather’s pool looking at a palm tree.... I have memories of him and wonder how I forgot them. I look around and see my sister put a thing in the water that we supposedly played with as children- a sphere with a flat rim around it That spins so it moves in the water to get anything that moves. I run to get out of the way and then wake up.
I miss Vlad.

Im pretty sure I had sleep paralysis from the ambien. Saw a dream about sleeping in bed but couldnt move. It wasnt really scary more like weird.

A couple of days after stopping amps (and taking a cocktail of sleep aids) I started getting really vivid dreams full of anxiety. They seemed to be about all different things but the most anxious one (that I think ended up in sleep paralysis for a few wakeful seconds at the end) was turning my room over endlessly to find some acid tabs I had bought from the dark web (IRL) - I kept finding shitty micro dosed tabs of acid stashed away as I gradually tore my room apart but never the really good powerful stuff I had forgotten the hiding place of. The panic kept rising because I was convinced that the acid could cure me of my out of control addiction.
Lots of the dream imagery was crystal clear from real life and I truly believed I was destroying my room and making a helluva racket in the middle of the night. A good part of it was wishful thinking too I reckon. It was quite amazing to go from no dreams for months and months to something so vivid and powerful - great pity it wasn’t about something besides drugs though. I think the message is clear.
