Oh I love the gravity lightness feeling, it's probably my favorite dream feeling.

I had a dream, years ago, where I was in the lake, in chest deep water, in the lake I grew up in. I flapped my arms and started to rise up out of the water. I realized I could fly then, so I flapped more times and went up a good 20 feet, and then gently came to a halt upwards and started slowly falling down, and flapped a couple of times to slow myself and land gently. Then the next time I flapped over and over and over again until I was so high up I could see the curvature of the Earth. Then I started falling faster and faster and got scared because I was so high up, and woke up. The feeling of it was so amazing.

I went to an adult education class on dreaming last night that I was really looking forward to. The lady giving the presentation looked like the high priestess of some S&M coven (actually, she was kinda hot!), all decked out in black leather with pentagrams, crystals and all. Then she started talking about how dreams are a portal into alternate realms, astral projection, out-of-body experiences, time travel, ESP, visiting dead relatives, etc.

It's not that I don't believe in a spiritual realm, because I do; I've just always felt that my dreams are a deeply personal reflection of my subconscious mind and this class had nothing to do with that. Oh well.

Does anyone else get dreams that are so reality-influenced it actually makes you confused about whether something occurred for real or it happened in the dream? This has been happening more frequently for me and it's bad enough that I'll avoid "hey remember that time..." conversations about recent events because I'm not entirely sure if my memory of it is even in the ballpark of what really happened, it's like these dreams don't just parallel the reality but even overwrite the memory itself :S

I wonder if maybe when we're dreaming our brains somehow tune in to our doppelgangers' lives in parallel timelines/realities. If you consider chaos theory and the non-deterministic nature of quantum mechanics then it's conceivable that there's an infinite number of parallel realities and every second that passes spawns new timelines and in that case there could be infinite permutations of people, places, circumstances and events to explain why they're so odd to us when we perceive them in dreams...

Yeah this happens to me frequently. Especially when I'm very lightly sleeping. I get dreams within dreams that are often very "normal", often I will dream that I wake up and start my day like normal, and then sometimes I'll wake up from that, realize I was dreaming, but still be dreaming, but be convinced each time, even though I realize I had previously been still sleeping, that this time I am actually awake, and only upon actually waking up for real do I achieve the self-reflection necessary to question whether I am still asleep or not. Anyway though, stuff happens during these dreams that I am unable to determine really happened or not. Sometimes I will have to ask my girlfriend whether something we talked about really happened, for example.

I've often wondered about alternate timelines and dreams. I think it's most likely just our minds modeling waking reality but anything is possible. I believe that the "5th dimension" (or maybe a higher number) is home to parallel realities... that the 4 dimensional space that forms the entirety of the spacetime continuum contains, along its axis, infinite slices of increasingly altered spacetime continuums. And that perhaps our awareness drifts along this axis as it drifts along the axis of time. Dreams could be glimpses of other timelines, but I think it's something we'll only ever be able to speculate on. It's interesting to think about, though.
 
That happens to me when I have really mundane dreams. Like the other night I dreamed that someone told me to get my car looked at because it was making a funny noise. It wasn't until I was driving the next day (in real life) that I realized there was nothing wrong with it.

I always take dreams seriously though, because they might be telling me something that my waking mind doesn't realize. I heard a story somewhere about a lady who started having this recurring dream about some kind of evil entity growing in her chest, and it turned out that she was in the very early stages of breast cancer. Her dream basically saved her life!
 
I woke up suddenly from a very intense and vivid dream last night. 2 hours before sleep I took a microdose of iboga TA extract that I got to begin a regimen with very soon to help me put opiates behind me again (I slipped back into a much lighter addiction last year after almost 6 years clean). The dream involved me and some friends going to various places, it started with this crazy icy nature place in Alaska, and then moved to a rainforest type of jungle I remember from a dream years ago. I was partying with friends, but the whole time I had no cell phone service and was worried that my girlfriend was worried about me and couldn't get ahold of me. The dream was simultaneously fun and anxious. It was unusually cohesive and very vivid, so much so that I bolted upright out of bed when I woke up. It is really representative of my life in two ways. For one, I do go off with my friends and leave my girl behind while she worries about me (with my band when we go on the road). And two, I have been hiding the opiate relapse from her because she is dealing with a lot of anxiety, a crippling amount, in her life, and I don;'t want to burden her, but I feel guilty.

Welcome back iboga... the most potent oneirogen on the planet without a doubt. This microdosing regimen is going to be so interesting.

Why just speculate? We just casually accept that we're the only animals capable of perceiving the 4th dimension (time) accurately enough to develop abstractions like fate and consequences.

Apropos to that, think of how much of our understanding of time revolves around the theories of just one man (Einstein). Isn't it a bit absurd how little we know about a dimension we've been perceiving for thousands of years?

By the same logic, isn't it possible we can perceive parallel timelines but we just haven't had that theory-of-relativity-scale breakthrough yet that can give us a foothold towards a greater understanding of it? I mean think about it, how many people knew time had *anything* to do with gravity before Einstein published his theories? Maybe we're in the same situation with dreams and alternate realities.
 
My sleep still hasn't been great lately, but at least I got a couple hours this morning and even briefly got lucid for the first time in a while. My insomnia's been so frustrating lately that it actually worked its way into my dream...

Feb 29-Mar 1, 2020: "Gilligan's Island/Flying Over House/Korean Woman"

I was lying on the livingroom floor of the house that I grew up in, and I kept trying to fall asleep but couldn't. I was either watching, listening to or imagining some episode of Gilligan's Island that related to my insomnia somehow. Every time that I tried to follow the plot, the scene would get hazy and repeat itself. I started to get stuck in that creepy "time loop" feeling, which would in turn prevent me from getting to sleep.

It started to occur to me that I might actually be dreaming, so I tried to levitate and fly through the ceiling. When I did, I quickly shot up through the roof of my house (which was more like my current one now) and high into the sky on a clear starry night. I started to fall back down to earth and I was afraid that the impact would wake me up as it often does, but I managed to slow my speed down and land softly.

Back inside the house, I went into my bedroom and was amazed at how realistic it looked. The only thing I noticed out of place was that my childhood stuffed kitty toy was on my bookcase shelf. An attractive young woman from North Korea showed up and she had apparently escaped to the USA from some kind of prison camp or other oppessive situation. Still lucid, I tried to kiss her but she turned away and seemed offended. That made me feel ashamed even though I knew that she wasn't real, so I apologized to her and left the room.

My lucidity faded and it briefly turned to a couple of other scenes that involved McDonald's and something about my dad's old boat, but that was about the extent of it. I started to feel myself wake up and got really aggrivated that I didn't get to stay in REM sleep longer.

Well at this point, I don't know that we could do more than speculate due to the nature of the question. I wonder if anyone is attempting any research into this sort of area though? Or if there is even a way to research something like that?
 
Oh man, I've had some crappy nights lately. For someone who loves dreams as much as I do, sometimes I feel that they don't love ME so much! The very last one made it all worth it though because it was really cool...

Mar 1-2, 2020: "Gorefest 2020"

(I'm not even going into detail about these! Let's just say prison rape, animal abuse, people falling to their deaths, etc.)

Mar 2-3, 2020: "Face-Down on the Floor (Twice)/Musical Walk"

1) I was a young boy again and went to a party with my parents. I reached for a slice of pizza and my dad yelled at me, then grabbed my arms and put me face-down on the floor. I couldn't move and felt like I couldn't breathe. I kept asking for him to please let me up but he wouldn't.

2) I was lying face-down on the livingroom floor and my whole body locked up like I was having some kind of seizure. I was trying to call out for help but couldn't get any sound to come out. My mom was sitting on the couch, but thought that I was just playing around said jokingly, "What the heck are you doing down there?".

(I woke up with my heart pounding and it took me almost an hour to fall asleep again.)

I was walking through my old neighborhood with several people who were singers and/or musicians. At least one guy and one lady were jazz legends but I'm not sure who, although Miles Davis and Lena Horne keep coming to mind. We kept on getting lost and circling the block repeatedly, which was mostly amusing to me but also a little bit frustrating as time went on.

We started to ad-lib funny songs about everything that was going on, sort of like those two guys do on the "Flight of the Conchords" TV show. One that I remember was about how many Chinese restaurants there were, and another was about trying to cross the street without getting run over by passing cars.

There was a group of Hell's Angels hanging out on the local green. Two policemen started to approach them, then realized that they were outnumbered and said something like, "Wow, there are a lot of you." before giving up and leaving. I found that to be absolutely hilarious.

Eventually I spotted the local Walgreens pharmacy on an adjoining street and finally realized where we were. We all said our goodbyes and headed off into different directions. I found my car and ended up stopping by one of the many Chinese takeout places nearby for some kind of noodle soup. I started to eat it before realizing that it had chicken and/or pork in it (I'm a vegan).

There could be a way, maybe nobody with the right instruments for this has put it together with the notion that dreams could be part of the stimulus for a sensory organ that's been overlooked. I get the feeling there's some connection with psilocybin here, shrooms make me feel the most dreamlike
 
Mushrooms are dreamlike, but ibogaine is by far the most dreamlike in effects. I mean my flood dose experience literally was 3 days of dreams.

I've probably mentioned this before, but your trip report about that ("Into the Flood") was actually what inspired me to join Bluelight and start this dream thread, so thanks again.

And I forgot to say the other day, best of luck with all of the situations that you're currently dealing with. I'm sure it'll all work out in the end.

I dreamed that my friend and I watched a drug deal go bad and both guys shot each other. We pretended to be cops gathering evidence and told the other witnesses to stand back. But soon they caught on to us and chased us away.

I had this dream a few nights ago. It jumped from scene to scene but they were all connected somehow from what I remember. Both Bluelight and Hamilton Morris found their way into it...

Mar 3-4, 2020: "Detective Stabler, Tarantula Sushi and other Weirdness"

I was hanging out at someone's house with Elliot Stabler from "Law & Order: SVU" (the actual TV character, not the actor) and his daughter had been kidnapped by the computer hacker dude from "Revenge Porn" (also the character). There was a live stream on the internet that showed her strapped to a table and Elliot was freaking out.

Back at my house, I was on my computer having a real-time text conversation on Bluelight about deeply sexual matters, then felt embarrassed about it even though it was done anonymously. One female member typed something like, "Am I the only one here feeling bashful?" and I tried to reply that I was too, but the conversation started switching topics very quickly so I didn't get a chance to. One guy used the word "wood" in a non-sexual way and I replied, "Heh heh, you said 'wood'. That was cool." like Beavis & Butthead.

I was watching people fire rockets at Mars to test radiation levels. Colored beams shot back to earth and I was worried about it being a health hazard..

I went to a very formal dinner/dance with some aristocratic British woman and her mom (or "mum", lol) was coaching me on every little detail like how to hold my salad fork properly. I was stressed out and couldn't wait for it to be over. I ate a bunch of lobster claws in butter then remembered that I'm vegan. Back at her and/or her mom's house, I retreated to the garage so I could relax by myself for a while.

I took my parents to a takeout sushi restaurant and there were disgusting ingredients behind the counter like whole goat heads and tarantulas. I asked the guy working there if there were any vegan options and he gave me a raw chicken breast, insisting that it was plant-based. I showed his wife and she apologized for him.

We ended up at a cigar store/lounge and the dude from "Hamilton's Pharmacopeia" was working behind the counter looking really sick with the flu or something. My mom knew him personally from somewhere and was very concerned. We helped him pull a huge pallet of merchandise down a steep parking lot and he almost fell. We told him that he should close up and see a doctor but he insisted that he was okay.

It ended with me talking to an old female friend in a Walmart parking lot about tanning.
