“Non-Narcotic” DXM??

I found a bottle of dxm pills they say non-narcotic but the only active ingredient is dxm. Would they do anything if I took them? I assume not but??

The term "narcotic" has been completely detached from reality unfortunately.

My guess is that they mean "does not contain opioids".

Yeah, my guess is it's referring to a lack of codeine, which is in a lot of cough syrups.
