Yeah its really old, but of interest not only for lulz over confusion in it:
Reported highs lasted between 30 minutes to one hour, “two hours if you don’t share too much”(10). The high for a 20-year-old Hispanic male who smoked one fry stick by himself lasted five days (14). These extended periods may be due not only to the embalming fluid mixture and the number of comrades who shared it, but also to the fact that a joint or cigar treated in embalming fluid burns more slowly than one that was not treated, according to seven respondents. Respondents thus have longer opportunities to absorb the THC, solvents, and PCP.
It relates to policy and even media - as I found the study taken at face value in one of the greasiest textbooks of all time.
the textbook
the textbook itself is not openly greasy so far, its mostly ok with cringe moments. [Edit: a couple more chapters in and we have cringe on a big comeback] The real issue is that its 26 years old and its supposed to be a "drugs and the brain" course.
There is a potential conflict of interest with a staff member on both the CACCF and the rehab offering the course [Last Door in BC], Jessica Cooksey - so potentially same people who cherry pick the cringe textbook get to say its just fine.
The last door and CACCF are both very active in Alberta health reform.

My Recovery Plan was implemented to evaluate and manage substance use treatment waitlists across Alberta. Documents reveal how it denies patients informed consent and control of their personal health information.

Marshall Smith allegations should prompt full procurement investigation
The Globe & Mail is reporting top-level allegations that Marshall Smith, former chief of staff to the Alberta premier, interfered in AHS procurement. If a forensic investigation proceeds, it must extend to the Ministry of Mental Health and Addiction, which Smith oversaw from 2019 to 2022.
