If anyone knows how to mitigate the sweating side-effect of Amanita, please let me know! It was profuse and quite uncomfortable.

Friend texted me she found some. Far away, so I checked my local spot. They were there! Yellow-orange-ish Guessowii var. - Amanita Muscaria.

I skipped and hopped around in delight in finding them. They are always so beautiful and inspiring. to see.

I found a mature one and broke off two chunks and ate them. They were tasty. No complaints on the taste. They went down easy. I had taken a microdose of Syrian Rue that morning, and some potent anti-inflammatory herbs. And raw cabbage. Stomach mostly empty, system mostly sensitive.

Within 15 minutes I started feeling altered. A little queasy, and felt the contents of my colon liquefy. It was time to head home and use the bathroom.

I stopped to put air in my tires but they didn't need it. Errand check!

Poop.

Now I'm sweating. Just profusely, and constantly for 3.5 hours. It sucks. So uncomfortable. I'm warm but I'm chilled by the sweat. Had to take my shirt off and dry myself with a towel a couple times. Change a shirt. Ugh.

I also was expelling a lot of phlegm from the back of my throat. It felt really cleansing, clearing out my chest congestion. The result was a feeling of emptiness, clarity, and strength. Beautiful.

I try dozing. Nope. Uncomfortable. I walk to a nice spot by a stream and drum and think and listen and make a phone call or two. Get a little insight.

I walk home, still sweating. My vision is blurry. Never really experienced that before. Interesting. I can still function in a composed matter and present myself well. I don't think anyone I talked to thought I was on anything. Good thing I didn't have to drive with that blurry vision.

I took a long, hot shower and I think that helped, but it was also at about the 3.5 hour mark, so the sweat was probably starting to subside anyway.

I felt giddy. Oh, before the shower I felt beautiful, shuddering strength radiating from my chest. I flexed and had a good upper body workout. I feel and look noticeably stronger and bigger. Woot. I could do this again to build muscle, but I think I need to address the sweating thing. That sucked.

Afterglow sweet. I feel stronger and clearer within myself.

I've tried them before and they barely get you high. Psilocybin on the other hand gets you high as hell.

My friend, if you ate raw amanita that is a mistake. It needs to be prepared properly and cooked in order to decarboxylate the ibotanic acid back into muscimol.

You technically poisoned yourself. Ibotenic acid is highly and acutely neurotoxic and creates lesions in your brain. It makes your brain bleed.

As to what in particular caused the profuse sweating is hard to say. I've never expetienced that side effect and have taken very large doses of muscimol.

A lot of your symptoms point to a potential allergic or sympathetic response to eating it.

Please look up how to properly prepare and ingest amanita.

Also syrian rue wont interact with or potentiate the effects of musicmol which are only mediated through its effect as a pure GABA agonist.

Oh yeah, increased phlem/mucus is a known side effect from that mushroom iirc. The sweating idk.

Blurry vision is a side effect of muscimol.

And I also wanted to say that in terms of interesting psychonaut experiences, amanita is not what I would use at all. I find muscimol to be very medicinal and effective for other reasons such as benzo withdrawal. Not very psychedelic until you overdose on it and even then it's really more of a horror trip than an interesting or notable one.

If you've ever taken large doses of z-drugs like ambien and have experienced the profound delusional states it can provide, its much like that.

The only "psychedelic" thing I've ever noticed from muscimol are intense tracers.

If you buy the dried ones threw the mail there labeled "Not for human consumption", but I went to eat them anyway.

Amanita is still legally and medically classified as a highly toxic poison, although deaths from it are very uncommon in otherwise healthy people.

The folks from olden times had something right when they would drink reindeer urine to get high instead of eating the mushroom itself. The deer would eat a crap load of amanita then deer's liver purified it into muscimol. Its less toxic drinking deer piss than it is to eat the mushroom raw.

You guys need to update your knowledge.

Amanita is not toxic. The studies that "show" that ibotenic acid causes legions in the brain were studies where they isolated the chemical and injected it directly into rats' brains. That's not the same ROA as eating them. Our digestive system, liver, etc. converts and digests the "toxic" chemicals.

I've taken raw Amanita before without the sweating side effect. It's been great. For some reason, this time was different. Maybe because there were a lot of spots on the top. Some people say to remove them for a better experience.

It's "classified as a highly toxic poison" because of the Death Caps, or because they don't want people tripping and they think (incorrectly) that tripping = brain damage. I swear, I still meet people who think even psilocybin makes you trip because it's damaging your brain.

Anyway, I didn't take this to necessarily have fun. Amanita Muscaria, along with other psychedelics, are powerful *medicines* and generally not yee-haw drugs to escape reality. And I did get some benefits.

I just don't want to sweat bullets.

Thanks for reading.

If you actually read medical cases of Amanita poisoning it absolutely is toxic, and so is pure muscimol itself unfortunately, as it had been demonstrably proven to spontaneously re-carboxylate itself into ibotenic acid in vivo inside the brain. However, that typically only becomes problematic in extreme doses.

I have tried chemically pure muscimol and can tell you without question it starts becoming neurotoxic at doses above 15mg or so. Gives me a hell of a hangover rivaling alcohol but shitty in unique ways. Headache and nausea similar to ethanol hangover. Doses under 10mg do not give me any hangover.

Personally I find around 6-10mg of muscimol to have remarkable healing powers on the GABA receptor. It has been theorized by credible medical scientists that it may re-sensitize the receptor which has become rigid from benzo dependency.

Also it directly and effectively potentiates benzos.

In my anecdotal experiments, it absolutely does and is a godsend for benzo recovery.

Amanita is an amazing, healing mushroom, but it is not harmless my friend, and only non-toxic if used in a specific way and dose.

This is also why in recorded and documented extreme overdoses the person will often shift between being sedated and near unconscious to being physically agitated, have a seizure, or otherwise act out in a way paradoxical way to a depressant.

Remember, dose is always the poison, not really the substance itself.

Muscimol and ibotenic acid levels are wildly unpredictable between each mushroom, not nearly as predictable as psilocybe varieties.

How many muscaria would it takes to get to OD levels on average? Ive never seen the pantherina here. Then again ive never looked. Cant id those as easy

More than 1 big mature specimen is already approaching more than enough. Pantherina is maybe 1.5-2x more potent by weight than Muscaria in my experience.

I wouldnt eat a whole one at first. Id take half the first time anyway as unlike psilocybin they have a quite reachable ld50

This goes without saying but don't eat any amanita unless you know without a doubt its not a death cap... aka the amanita variety which looks almost identical to muscaria but is far, far less enjoyable. Nobody comes back from that ride ticket. It is commonly mistaken. Causes acute and irreversible liver failure.

I thought ingestion usually results in death when it comes to death caps?

Indeed, I thought I expressed that. Not a trip you come back from. Acute and irreversible liver failure (always fatal unless you get a liver donor which is just as rare as getting a heart donor, if not more.

Unlike kidneys you can't live without a liver. No machine can keep you alive. You can live with 10% of a liver, but not if it's damaged from some poison.

Thats as rare as hens teeth. I may just purchase online

I've purchased sketchy amanita extracts online and in still alive. I think the real danger would be picking them yourself.
