Ergine and erginine can interconvert. Afaik ergine binds more strongly but it has been theorised by David Nichols that erginine may have better brain penetrability and then converts into the (more) active ergine. None of this has been sufficiently proven as now as far as I'm aware (e.g. if the kinetics of isomerisation are fast enough).Interesting. It is very viable. I actually came up with 2 viable extractions, to isolate alkaloids cleanly and easily. If it ok to post them here?
