Bupropion and cocaine compete for the same transporters. I wouldn't expect to get the same euphoria off any stimulant, while taking bupropion. (Also, bupropion and other stims may both raise seizure threshold.)
They actually do not….
Bupropion (Wellbutrin) although a NDRI it has negligible effects on the DAT 25% roughly……..minimum of 50% is required to induce euphoria in human test subject, it has a different MOA entirely
Methylphenidate (Ritalin) and Cocaine on the other hand……DO in fact complete for the same binding sites at the DAT. Human cocaine users/abuser couldn’t tell the difference if they received IV Cocaine or IV Methylphenidate. Which I was surprised to read since Cociane has robust effects at the SERT, unlike Methylphenidate (Ritalin)
Ritalin (Methylphenidate) DAT > NET. (Dopamine increase/release is 3-4X more potent than NET Norepinephrine)
Cocaine HCL DAT > SERT >> NET (Cocaine is a Triple reuptake inhibitor & Tropaine alkaloid)
However, according to current modern medical literature and several medical journals I’ve read, they all state the same unique MOA of both compounds…..Ritalin & Cocaine isn’t your “typical reuptake inhibitor” such as Bupropion (Wellbutrin) …..Ritalin & Cocaine are nearly identical in their MOA and are classified as an Inverse Agonist…..as they possess alternative mechanisms that indirectly cause the release/increase of Monoamines (not similar to classic Amphetamines) …..Methylphenidate (Ritalin) is VERY euphoric & pleasurable as its able to inhibit greater than 50% of DAT ….actually 60-75% of DAT reliably….which are significantly euphoric levels
Ritalin (Methylphenidate) is also considered a “Classic Amphetamine” in medical literature of dopaminergic stimulants and is very desirable amongst hi dose injection users, in the same category as Phenmetrazine (Preludin) which was voluntarily removed from market by manufacturer due to its insaine euphoric abuse potential apparently
Amphetamine
D-Amphetamine
D-Methamphetamine
Methylphenidate (Ritalin)
Phenmetrazine (Preludin)
Benzphetamine (Didrex)
Cocaine illicit
Piprodol
Bupropion is a beta-ketone Amphetamine analog of the Cathinone class, however at normal doses, its dopaminergic properties are ineffective at dopamine inhibition great than 20-30% which is very poor. 4-MMC is a much better Cathinone to use and is very euphoric & pleasurable.
However, Adderall, Dexedrine, Desoxyn, Ritalin/Focalin, Didrex (Benzphetamine) pro-drug metabolizes into d-Meth and then into d-Amph) and Cocaine are all Top Teir 1 dopaminergic stimulants…..get a script
