🌟🌟 Social 🌟🌟 What's the last film you saw? v. Why doesn’t Peter Jackson wear shoes?

Manhattan (1979)

Woody Allen’s films are horribly, extremely self derivative. I’ve seen a lot of his works and I think the 80s was his peak. 90s was meh. 00s was just a revival of his 70s works, mostly derived from this very film I’ve realized.

7/10

Yeah, Manhattan was good. I haven't seen that in years, I should revisit it.
Did you see Matchpoint (2005)? It was well made, and unlike anything else of his, but so fucking bleak and not even a stab at humor. I didn't think he had a movie like that in him. Can't say I liked it, though I could appreciate the craft.
Some of his early movies had their very funny moments. One of my favorites, it gets me in touch with my teenage sense of humor 😉:

( unfortunately, the final scene of him drinking woolite in the gutter is missing)

It was almost as dumb and as bad as I thought it would be... I braced myself for the worst and got very stoned...and to my eternal shame...I kind of enjoyed it (total cash grab from the OG cast though of course):

Scary movie V

I just saw "The Furious" in the theaters last week. It's a dubbed kung fu movie that I guess is just now getting released in America.

It was incredibly awesome, highly recommend checking it out if you like martial arts movies

Sounds interesting, I'll check it out.

You ever watch "Ong Bak?" I think that might be my favorite martial arts movie of all time. No CGI, no BS, straight skill.

Ong Bak:

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I've watched it many a time and it never fails to make me emotional. I think it's a solid 9/10. IMDB gives it a 6.5/10 and whoever dictates that rating is wrong! Well worth watching (over and over).

28 Years Later: Bone Temple (2026)

Decent follow up. I enjoyed it enough but the whole Jimmy subplot must have been lost on me, didn’t dig it much. My buddy said Jimmy was some real life child molester there in the UK but I have no knowledge of that.
