Hello blue light. My good friends sister has a prescription for fentanyl patches. now 60 mg of oxy up the nose will have me nodding hard and perfect. my brother reccomends me to stay far from the stuff, just want to get a third opnion. i was thinking about cutting it up to smaller peices to smaller doses but he said that also wont work. just want a 3rd input. -Thanks
Jake

Only if curious, and your brother agrees..

Except that is an exteremely potent opiod, i don't think that it has the euphoria of the oxy. But (if your brother agree), maybe he could give you a piece to use it bucally (i'm sure he knows how small or big piece to give you, it depends by your tolerance), just in case that you have a curiosity, so if you try it, you won't be curious(and of course your brother knows what to do). Well, you remind me myself and my brother..Yeah, good times..:)

Op you don't mention the brand or strength of the patches in your post. That makes it harder to give advice.

However, I agree with NeighborhoodThreat.
Fentanyl is an extremely strong opiate, with a small margin of error in the ratio of high/resp depression.
With your tolerance level it's not something to try & abuse. I recommend you stay away from the stuff.
As someone who has a much higher tolerance & relatively extensive experience with the substance I'd say it's not worth the risk.
You would be risking o/d & raising your tolerance for a reward that doesn't measure out to the risk.

As MartinFn stated it's just not that euphoric & I tend to agree on that point anyways.
Now if your looking for pain relief it works decent when used as intended.
However, as an opiate of abuse in a user of your tolerance level it's just playing with fire for little reward. :\

I'd recommend against it.

Fentanyl is a dangerous substance, just has been said before it has an extremely small margin of error. But I'm not going to say stay away from it, I would recommend it. I love the stuff. But be very careful. As with any labrat test start with the smallest of dosage and only raise when YOU think your tolerance has increased. I'm not entirely sure if an OC tolerance would effect fentanyl so I can't give advice of that part.

I would not recommend it either. Trade it or something for some oxy's since those sound more your speed.

But I bet you will try it anyway.

Are they gel or sticker? And what mcg are they?

I would not try this if I were you. Your not opiate tolerant enough. But if your going to do it anyway maybe provide more information about the patch you have. I tried it for the first time when i was at an about 120-150mg oxy tolerance...maybe that will give you an idea of weather or not you should try it.

If i were you i would just wear the patch as directed. Other routes of administration can be quite risky, as the dose-response curve is very steep. The margin between the dose of fentanyl needed to get high and the amount that can kill you is notoriously minute.

stick a piece on your tongue, suck on it for a good few hours. If you don't get high within an hour - you need another piece.

ps - it also depends on brand of patch. and if it is a gel or matrix.

I use mylan and duragesic matrix, on my tongue weekly. love this stuff.

For a start - the most important thing, as people have said, is dosage. It's normally shown as 'xx ug / hour', though they should also have a total dose. If I remember correctly, 100ug = 16.8mg, 50ug = 8.4mg, and so on.
An approximate way to compare the dose to oxy 1.5mg = 80mg oxy. HOWEVER, it is very important to measure your own limits - as people above me have said, fentanyl is one of the more dangerous opis. There have been many cases of peoples hearts simply stopping - not even just the regular OD where you stop breathing.
I would start by chewing about 0.25mg worth of a patch. To measure the dose, I usually like to divide the patch into squares. I normally had 100ug / 16.8mg patches, so I would just cut it into quarters, and then those pieces into quarters, to get 16 pieces of about 1mg each. Work this out based on your own patches. Once you've got the dose figured out, just chew on them and hold under tongue for about half an hour. After half an hour or an hour, depending on how you're feeling, try another 0.25mg (or even smaller increments.)

I was wondering about that, I had a sandoz patch yesterday that was 100mcg per hour and said it was 10mg fentanyl (total in gel patch) and today i picked them up and it was the new "matrix" ones.....shake my F***in head...anyway these say 100mcg per hour and 16.8mg (total fentanyl dose) ....im guessing these new matrix c*nt patches last longer because they both deliver 100mcg per hour....

^^No, they're both supposed to release 100mcg/h (100mcg*10=1 mg). So, when you take it off your body(after 72 h) the amount that has given to your system(72*100mcg=7200mcg=7,2 mg). And well, this means that 2,8 mg has left in the gel patch, and 9,6 mg has left in the matrix patch. But it's not so simple, the fent in the matrix patch is in the adhensive, and i think that it has to do with the amount of fent that can be released to the body, which is in both cases(or supposed to be) 100mcg/h. Some people try to extract the left over fent from the used patches, some say they can, some say they can't..

When my gel patch was upped from 75 mics to 100 I o.d.'ed and had to be intubated two times in one week. How I survived I will never know. It's like playing Russian Roullette with your life. I am now prohibited from taking Fentanyl by doctors. I take Opana ER and Dilaudid 8 mg. 4 x daily as prescribed now. Lesson learned. Fentanyl will kill you before your head hits the pillow.

I've always used the flat patches, the 'matrix' ones, without much trouble. Bear in mind any advice I give on fent will come from them, maybe gel patches will be stronger/weaker or something by my methods of ingestion.
