I recently obtained an all elusive fentanl patch and had a few questions about it. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated, thank you.

Q: I have heard and read that a fentanyl patch can possibly contain very small amounts of alcohol... Is this true and if so how much?

I am trying to stay away from anything containing any sort of alcohol what so ever but I would love to be able to slap this bad boy on but not if there is any sort of alcohol in it. Does anyone have any info on the alcohol content in a fentanyl patch if any at all (my resources who told me there's alcohol in the patch could wrong there for I am turning to you folks for some advice/ help.) and if there is alcohol could it possibly show up in my
blood alcohol content (B.A.C.) or sweat?

Again throwing this patch on could make my weekend but not if theres any sort of alcohol that could possibly get into my blood stream or show up my sweat. Any advice or help would would be much appreciate. Thank you!

P.S.
Moderators I apologize if I have posted in the wrong section, just need a lil info.
Thx again

What type of patch do you have? An older one with the gel reservoir on the back or a newer Duragesic type that just looks like a flat sticker?

Ok well I can't wait all day for you to respond so I will just tell you that the older style patches with the gel reservoir do in fact have a miniscule amount of alcohol in them to aide in absorption into the skin and would never register in a BAC test. The newer patches do not. in fact I will copy and paste what it says on the FDA website about the layers of the new patches.

1. a backing layer of PET foil;

2. a drug containing layer of fentanyl and dipropylene glycol with hydroxypropyl cellulose;

3. an ethylene vinyl-acetate copolymer membrane that controls the rate of fentanyl delivery to the skin surface; and

4. a silicone adhesive. Before use, a protective liner covering the adhesive layer is removed and discarded.

....no alcohol.

It is a clear transparent patch in the shape of a house if you will. It says fentanyl ts 25 mcg/h on it. Btw sorry for taking all day to reply. Thx

They do have alcohol in them, a minute amount. Most of em do. Unless you have a HIGH opiate tolerance I suggest you don't just "slap it on".. eat it... or do jack shit with it. Too many people die from fucking around with Fent, I think the alcohol in it should be the least of your concern. Good luck.

Are you reading what I fucking type dude? Seriously? I said the old ones had alcohol in them. Jesus Christ.

Yea I read what the fuck you said. However I am not here to argue about the contents of current fentanyl patches. The ones I got rxed to me less than a year ago had alcohol in them. Regardless in the spirit of harm reduction I am suggesting that the OP be aware of how strong fentanyl actually is and be more concerned with that and less concerned about the alcohol that may or may not be in the patch they obtained.

<no need for that that at all, please don't resort to personal attacks>

Hey guess what? I don't give two shits what you think of me or who I am. My opinions are respected here <snip>. So if you are hell bent on having the last word then go ahead. Its yours for the taking. I refuse to argue over an internet forum and stoop to your level of immaturity. Have a good day.

Hey guess what? I don't give two shits what you think of me or who I am. My opinions are respected here, and you, are being a jackass. So if you are hell bent on having the last word then go ahead. Its yours for the taking. I refuse to argue over an internet forum and stoop to your level of immaturity. Have a good day.

You started an argument, sounds to me like you have issues with being wrong. I know you are a recreational IV user but have you actually been prescribed the drugs you use? I have been prescribed fentanyl and it did have alcohol in it. I am more concerned with the OPs health than your bullshit. I have had a few friends die from fentanyl use and if the OP doesn't have an opiate tolerance that would allow for fentanyl use it could be dangerous for them. Harm reduction is the point here not arguing with you. Clearly you think too highly of yourself.

Cut out the insults please. Yes, the biggest concern with fentanyl is how strong it is and the danger of ODing, but that wasn't the OP's question. I appreciate that you have had personal experience in how dangerous fentanyl is Violenza, and I agree that it is a scary drug, but let's try to act like we are on the same side please and work together to answer the OP's question :)

I'm going to close this as the question has been answered and there's no need for the way this thread has gone. If anyone has any queries, feel free to pm me.
