Opioids Could pain be the reason I don't feel euphoria from opiates anymore?

I cleaned up some posts in this thread. Keep your issues with other users to PM. I don't want to see that shit posted on the boards. Got it?

There's a lot of prescription opioids. A lot of them are really obscure/new. As far as how percocets work. Oxycodone about 2.5-3x the potency of hydrocodone.

I find oxycodone only slightly stronger than hydrocodone. Isn't the strength of oxycodone more like 1.5x that of hydrocodone?

I find them to be equal. It will all depend on your individual body, especially the enzymes in your liver. If they are lazy, oxycodone will be way stronger because it has activity on its own. If they are busy, then hydrocodone may well be much stronger than oc.

When I had surgery I felt no euphoria from opis. Inpatient I was on IV Fentanyl automated drip with hydromorphone every 2 hours on request. I did however feel a marked difference in mental state -- I was less bored and more relaxed, more social with the nurses.

As far as pain goes hydromorphone is fucking useless IMO & IME a morphine drip is 10x whatever hydromorphone ever was (as far as pain goes)

Yes, the first time I did opiates was about a year ago. I was admitted in to the ER for broken ribs, and they gave me 4mg Morphine IV. I was expecting a Trainspotting-type rush, but I felt literally nothing, just a little more relaxed. My pain was pretty much gone, though.

It kinda sucks, doesn't it? Can't have euphoria with pain, can't get pain pills without pain.

I swear I answered this earlier, not sure if my post got deleted between now and last night.

Here's my justification.

Potency is determined by the affinity it has with the opioid receptors. But there seems to be no definite consensus on this, so I could be wrong.

Well you can mess with your enzymes with inhibitors like grapefruit juice and omeprazole... but it all comes down to what your body naturally does. If you have an excess of activity at CYPxx, then your body will turn hydrocodone into hydromorphone at a much higher rate. If you don't, then oxycodone (which is active by itself) will be stronger.

In metabolism, Oxycodone -> Oxymorphone @ ~5%
Hydrocodone -> Hydromorphone @~ 10-20%

Thank you!!! If I take a hot shower about 20 min. after dosing, it hits me HARD!!! No nod though, BUT, yesterday I bought Advil PM (Ibuprofen 200mg and Diphenhydramine 38mg) and took that with 25mg Hydrocodone, and nodded the fuck out for the first time in months!

not everyone but most of the people that say "oh the pain thats why i take painkillers" are lying their ass off because a good percentage of them can get the pain dealt with if they see a pain specialist or chiropractor haha
but this is bluelight so everything goes

This is only my personal experience with this so here it goes. I've had several reconstructive surgeries since birth directly related to functional and cosmetic abnormalities as a result of my cleft lip and palate. Most recent of which was the "Le Fort" procedure, which consists of the breaking and repositioning of the jaw. This is held together with various plates, screws, rubber bands, hooks, and other miscellaneous hardware. I had a real mild oxycodone habit going into it (slightly increased tolerance to dosage, but euphoria and anxiolysis still being pretty apparent). I found the transcendent euphoric feeling I was looking for was substituted with the "euphoria" of relief from the pain and the return to normalcy for the duration of the drug. Long in a short, I didn't achieve the same feeling I did when I wasn't in pain.

Damn!!! Sorry to hear about you!!

I've had chronic pain for around 4-5 years and this year got diagnosed with allodynia and there seems to be some other things going on under the surface, something to do with my muscles i think . I am in constant and often very agonising pain throughout the day . I have been given no real pain relief medicine other than cocodomal (which I stopped taking after finding that swallowing 8 15/500 apap pills a day is very harmful) and pregablin+lamotrigine ( for the neuropathic pain). I have illicitly taken DHC,Oxycontin and for a long while I've been using poppy pod tea to combat the pain. The poppy pods cause such a difference its unreal, although im trying to take some time off poppys for abit- this is my second day and i feel like shit because im back to the same pain level as I was at before I started using poppy pods. In all honesy I have felt not much euphoria from opiates, other than the enjoyment of feeling normal for a couple of hours ( except for one occasion after I had taken a little break from pods and dosed again for the first time- had an AMAZING buzz that felt just like before you orgasm, bloody amazing)

my stepmother has a spinal injury and has had multiple surgerys to fix it or atleast make it better. She got all of the best pain killers, this was when they were prescribing oxys like they were skittles. I would talk with her about what she was eating and which ones she liked more and less what they were worth if I tried to go sell them etc. She never once said they felt good or euphoric in any way. I told her that the oc 80s she was eating 2-3 a day of were top shelf, she couldnt believe anyone would ever try to use them to get high. She said they made her grogy and tired and shitty feeling. this was right after a surgery on the upper part of her spinal column where they sliced into her neck from the front under her chin because they were operating on the inside of her spine so she was in A LOT of pain...

^^^ Damn, I feel bad for your mom bro.

As for the euphoria, I've figured out how to get it again!! I take 20-30 Hydrocodone (Which normally doesn't do shit for me. Pain or euphoria) and take an Advil PM (Ibuprofen 200 mg/Diphenhydramine 38 mg) and KILLS the pain and I nod harder than I ever have in years!

And I want to try that poppy pod tea. Do you find them at the supermarket or something?

You need to have a nose about online , pod sources at least for me are very hard to find. I actually can't find any others so God forbid mine drys up or something, not like they are good quality pods anyway.
Floral arrangement might be an area to look into.

Pods are great for pain killing, not so much for a buzz IME.

Never understood pods and how they work. And, why they're legal since they contain Opium if i'm not mistaken?

They don't really contain opium, but opium can be acquired from them. I've never done them, but basically you're getting natural morphine, codeine, thebaine, and papaverine. They can be dangerous, and the tea can kill you as you don't know how potent your stuff actually is. It's always variable and you can never be sure of exact strength. From what I've heard it's just like an opioid experience. That's about all I know. You can also make tea out of seeds, which are also legal.

Using seeds to make tea is often more dangerous as you can have no idea how much goo or latex is actually coating the seeds. Whilst with using the pods you know that there will be at least some morphine in there. Either way the best way is to take things slowly and carefully. Obviously don't think of injecting the tea or anything.
