Opioids Gag reflex and Pills

So, I take lortabs on an almost daily basis. I chew them up because I can't swallow pills, it makes me gag and I choke. When I chew them up they taste so shitty that I will come close to puking, I have a couple times. Any ideas out there to help me out?

Also: I have 6 lortab 10's, and two trizandine. Should I just take them all at once? I usually take 5-7 lortab 10's at once, no problem. But I want to know how adding trizandine will effect it.
 
Don't fill up your mouth with a bunch of water. You only need a little bit of water to get the pill down. More than a little bit and the pill will float to the top of the water in your mouth and go down last, when your throat is closing to push the liquid down the throat. You just want enough to lubricate the pill on its way down.
 
I just tried it that way, I couldn't even get myself to swallow it. :( Ended up having to chew that one up too.
 
Haha kids these days, if you can't swallow a pill try crushing it and dissolving it in water with some koolaid and drink.
 
If you are taking lortabs, you could perform a cold water extraction. This also has the added benefit of removing al of the unwanted APAP. Thus you would be left with a liquid solution of water + hydrocodone, and you can just drink it down. My mom (turns 48 on the 15th) and sister (26) to this day have trouble swallowing pills. They have to take a drink of diet coke (or whatever they're drinking) fill their mouth halfway with diet coke, toss a pill in there (1 at a time), and then start to take another drink as they swallow the pill. Granted. They don't use drugs recreationally lol. I used to be that way til I started to do drugs lol. Now as a chronic pain patient, I can take all 10 of my pills in the morning by just tossing them at the back of my mouth and wash down lol. You learn to take pills when you have no drink and have to use your spit as pill lubricant to get it down a time or two lol.

I do that too, just toss em all in my hand and then all down the chute at the same time. It saves time.
 
Ya, now if only all my meds could fit in one of those daily dosing containers to save the time of opening 8 different bottles lmao.
 
I got one of those too LOL, I find that it too saves not only time but confusion of "did I take my pills today?" or "which ones did I take again?" My tray is for seven days and has 4 time slots for each day. I only need 3 so I use one row of time slots to stash extra pills "just in case."
 
Back in middle school I could barely take a tylenol without throwing up. What I did was place the pill on the back of my tongue, then took a big drink. Walah.
 
Stick in back, about an inch from the tip, of a dry tongue(taste buds don't notice it as much) , pour in a single gulp worth of your favorite drink and jerk head back to let the water rush it into your throat then swallow.
Takes a while if you're not used to it. Trick is to get the timing of the jerk right when water hits the pill, or the taste will get all over your tongue. Practice with M&M's so if it doesnt work it wont make you sick.
