I do not really see how nearly all academic subjects are male-dominated

Then we'll leave it there. But maybe next time you watch university challenge you could count the ratio of female to male names in the answers. Our studies of ideas are largely, particularly outside of literature, the study of male ideas.

But then what do women expect? God made man, not women. She was just a cast-off from a man's rib cage. And even then she nicked the apple, casting us all into sin. Bitch.

Who cried discrimination?

That has nothing to do with studying only women within their own academic course. The course isn't concerned with pouring over what women have done in terms of ideas, it primarily looks at problems facing women and different psychological elements. It's not as if when women do have ideas or have their part to play in history other subjects just ignore it, if anything they are given a reasonably disproportionate amount of time to try and make up for the male-dominated nature of those subjects.

Any way, we have been over this before together. We are both roughly in line with each other, and would like to see society become all the more egalitarian rather than picking and choosing a side.

just got robbed of £40 while in the city center.. i paid £40 for a scrunched up tesco bag, had the old switcheroo done on me, feel like such a chump.

What was supposed to be in the bag?

its actually the first time its ever happened to me.

caught me at a bad moment, just come out of the pub after 6 pints of lager, asked if i wanted any gear.. shown me the product then did a switcheroo on the bag, by the time i opened the bag he was long gone.

not arsed about the money. just feel a bit ashamed that i could be taken for such a fool.

So was it someone you know then? I never get offered gear by complete strangers!

it was supposed to be a 1/4 of skunk, but instead i just got a tesco bag inside another tesco bag. he did have 1/4 of skunk in a tesco bag but made some david blaine style street magic trick on the switch, as well as me being a bit drunk it did the trick..lesson learned.

It happened to me a few times whilst scoring h but that's to be expected! Never been skanked for weed though, did you manage to sort some out in the end?

Hate getting stroked, it's such a shit feeling and you just spend the next few hours playing out the whole 'what if' scenario in your head. Happens to everyone at some point though, I recently lost a fair wack of coin and it was fairly shit to say the least!

Bleh yeah rubbish feeling to say the least. I've had some bad one. E's being the worst go to buy 50 a few years ago end up with about 18 crushed up halves in a bag :\

I'm still a bit fucked off last nights diaz and one too many drinks, port, wine etc tonight. Not really in the best of form

Well it eases my pain a little to know i'm not the only one to get chumped, yeah acid i got some skunk the moment i got back home :)

it was just one of those spur of the moment type things and having put away a couple of beers, my guard was down and my brain was on slow-mo. I should have known that when something seems to be too good to be true then it is.

ruined today a bit for me but i'll be laughing about it tomorrow

some shady cunts about!

Been busy in here today, particularly liked the comment from PTCH that Sam was just spouting feminism bollocks in the hope of impressing birds. Though in Sams defense I thought him giving a bird 3 chances to remember his name then turning round and ignoring her because she couldn't was top notch. :D

Dunno what's up with me today, whether I just had more to drink than I realised last night or I'm ill. I just sat in the house, had a couple ciders and a few gin & tonics, ended up sleeping till about 1pm which I never do (usually wake up at 6am and can't get back to sleep!), had the worst headache ever which just wouldn't go away and still felt knackered, got up and tried to eat a roll but was almost being sick, at 3pm went away back to bed and slept until 6, struggled to get out of bed and eat my tea and have felt drained and a bit shit since. Think I definitely needed the sleep, been a long time since I had a decent kip, all through my holiday was early starts, long days and late nights then back at work last week was up at 6am every day and not sleeping more than 2-3hrs at night. Gonna watch Nowhere Boy on C4 at 10pm (film about John Lennon), meant to be quite good and the boy who plays Lennon is sound as fuck, met him at The Beatles weekender a few months back.

Anyway TL;DR back to slaggng each other off and arguing about tax evasion and feminism.

Hope your feeling better soon mate, also hope you manage to get a decent kip! I really struggle with sleep problems

^^

that's an epic, epic statement, right there. EPIC. wow.

do you realise what your implying here? have you thought about this thoroughly and taken this idea to its possible realms, boundaries and conclusions in order to fully understand what this limits, what it encourages, what this actually means in terms of ideology? have you thought about it properly ... really?

probs a bit late to reply to this... but frankly yes. howeevr, i don't think we're coming from the same perspetive at all, so i've not thought about it in the way you're asking.

i understand things from the viewpoints that i have been trained to understand the world from, specifically physical, logical and philosophical (analytic tradition) viewpoints. i interpret things in the way that makes sense to me, i consider processes at a decent level of abstraction and am trained enough in the basics of dynamical systems to understand how different factors effect each other.

the way i have learned to make sense of the world may well be invalid for certain lines of enquiry, but i personally am very content with them.

you said my statement was epic, i hope you're being sarcastic. how can the worst problems not be the top priority? and how can diverting attention from those problems be positive?

you commented earlier on my 'poor discourse,' at least mine actually refers to things. yours isn't even discourse.....

I think the diverting attention thing is the only issue really. We shouldn't ignore problems because there are bigger ones. Like, because we need a cure for cancer/aids should we completely ignore cures for other, less deadly diseases?

Not that I'm putting feminist nonsense in the same league as a cure for cancer but just that we can't really just ignore things because "there are bigger problems". We can however ignore feminism lol.
