Hi there, for the past couple of months, I've been using tramadol two to three times a week (200mg doses). I know that I'm already psychologically hooked up on it, but I'm wondering about the physical aspect of addiction. I still have 5 50mg pills left, probably will be ingesting them tonight, the thing is, in my country you don't need a prescription to buy the trams and you can get them from the pharmacy extreaaaaamely cheap (pills cost a few cents), making them easier to get than cigarettes.

I ask this to people with more experience than me with this psychotropic, if I stop after today's 5 pills and fight the urge to buy some more, will I get any physical withdrawal? Take in mind my time using this, 200mg doses, around 2-3 times a week for the last 2 months. Also, someone please scare me about trammy addiction, so I can take the plunge into soberness easier.

Btw, I'm also at the last phase of a benzo tapper, 2.5mg of diazepam atm and life is becoming fucking hell with my midterms coming and my mind going nuts. Any advice would be nice.

P.s. I didn't posted this on the dark side, since things aren't as dark yet, sadly, they aren't as bright... feels like fucking limbo with a predisposition on leaning into hell. But, not quite yet...

We can't tell you how bad W/D will be (if you'll have them at all), every person is different.

200mg 2-3x a week is not a lot, but it's significant. And Tramadol is also a SNRI antidepressant, so be prepared for a dip in your mood.

I used tramadol almost exactly the way you did. Two or three times a week at around 200mg-300mg for about 2 months or so. I had 180 50mg pills, and once that ran out I didn't expect too much in the way of withdrawal. But it was pretty harsh; I was extremely depressed for days. I didn't get much withdrawals physically, but psychologically it was terrible. I couldn't resist and bought another 180 pills. Then I became severely addicted, running out of my ~22 day prescription in just 4-5 days. I did that for maybe 6 months, and now I am currently on suboxone treatment.

I can't offer much advice other than to stay away as much as you can after these 5 pills, if you want to avoid addiction. It is good that you are realizing your situation now. The longer you take it the harder it will be to get off it.

Having said that, tapering off of tramadol is relatively easy and is what I would do when I had to wait several days until my next prescription. Slowly lower your dose over the course of 2-3 weeks and you should avoid much of the withdrawal.
