@HWH--I'd love to read your essay! Do we get a synopsis? "What do you want to be remembered for?" I see a thread in the making....
I'd love to read my essay too.
But to avoid any chance of cheating, the state of California made me shred my rough draft after i turned my final draft into the teacher...
To the best of my goldfish-like memory it went something like this...
Our planet is currently occupied by over 6billion people; 6billion seperate biographies being written all at once. It would take serious action to stand out from such a crowd. All action originates from thought; it is the condition of those thoughts that not only dictate the action itself, but how it acts!
There are alot of things wrong and unjust in this world, but thats not the worst part. the worst part is that most of the world doesnt even realize it, and the rest just dismiss it as unchangeable.
If our physical bodies can evolve to live more comfortably and efficiently, why can't our minds do the same?
Our planet, like any other organism, works only when all parts are operating in harmony. My goal is to do whatever I can to get that machine running towards our salvation, rather than damnation.
If I were to be honored for any reason, it would be for the lifetime of effort I will put forth into not only seeking the truth, but spreading it to all who will listen.
The feeling I get when I heal the problems of my own life will always be dwarfed by the warmth I receive when doing the same for others.
That's basically the shitty, chicken-scratch version of my totally bitchin essay...
