tips on astral projecting?

I dont believe this practice is anything more than focused and imaginitive meditation. which is relaxing.

So, from the stance that it is meditation, unobstructed airway and ability to relax all of your muscles is important. For me this is on my back on my bed but I have meditated in public or while sitting. I cant do it while walking. like doing it in a nearly dark room. I can see my pupils dilating and constricting as I meditate, and it is a sign that I am reaching relaxation.

I usually take a stroll to this place like interzone, a transdimensional space. And there is a a set of steps leading to a floating suspended doorway. I systematically relax as I walk up the steps and open the door. On the other side is a perfect serene beach at dusk with steps leading down the beach from the door. There are seagulls and salty mists, and semi choppy waves. There are two lawn chair recliners on the beach with a table with whatever beverage I want to have. I take off my shoes and feel the cool damp sand squish through my toes. Its very realistic. I swim in the ocean for a bit which is awesome and when I am done I relax on one of the chairs. And someone usually visits me, a woman. And our conversations are extemporaneous and aren't really preplanned by me, they just happen about all sorts of subjects... its extremely relaxing. On my return trip the steps I descend bring me back to conscious as I leave the interzone. There is always a sense of commonality with the visitor, they are usually the transient old soul type.

O.O mine is just white. deep pure white expanding past where I can focus my eyes.

I read once that trying to meditate when congested with a head cold is less effective because inability to control breathing. And, one womans advice was never to try and start meditating for the first time this way. I find I like 3 pillows, two under my arms and one under my head as my arms lose circulation in a flat position if I stay there too long.

One way to achieve the state as I understand it above is to buy ping pong balls, and cut them to cup your eyes with the lettered part removed. You stare up at a lit ceiling, and you should see nothing but a homogenous white, and this black will come in from your peripheral vision, and slowly fill your field of vision.

The only real astral projection experience i consider to have had was after practicing laying meditation for 1 hr every day for a month. It was very similar to a NN-DMT experience, which makes me believe NN-DMT is low-level astral projection. The big difference was that before i ended up in that space/kaliedoscope of 3D fractals/lavalamp style environment, i had some kind of Kundalini experience.. basically saw and felt this force rise up through me, reaching my head, which then exploded upwards like this: http://img.ehowcdn.com/article-page-main/ds-photo/getty/article/41/97/92818685_xs.jpg

It was the most incredible feeling i've ever had.. like an orgasm x1000000 but actually in the mind itself. The vision (AP) i had after that was secondary really even though it was still awesome in itself. What i wouldn't give to have that experience again..
