Hey all...

Hope this missive finds you all well and dopey...

I am curious as to how many of you are older types like myself. I just turned fifty this year and probably party harder that most of the younger people I know albeit respectfully as I have a thriving career path.
I have discovered though as I age, more and more that procuring MDMA/molly etc, has become increasingly difficult. I was reminded of my age at a party a younger coworker was throwing recently. We had been
there for about an hour when I noticed a couple kids rolling doobs at the kitchen table. I thought, cool! Lets party. When I walked over to the table, they freaked and attempted to hide the dope. (Spilling half of it on the floor in the process) Later as we were leaving, the kids were out smoking and upon seeing me tried to hide the joint. I laughingly took the doob from the kid and took a long hit then handed it back to him and told him to relax. As I have aged, I have unwittingly taken on the persona of someone uncool. This really blows when my sources dry up. I used to be able to hit a club of two and find a new source, but... as my hair has greyed and the wrinkles set in, the club scene has not been as fruitful.

So... my query is this... Anyone else out there experienced this aging "Shut out" as I like to call it.

or

Any over the hill rollers out there?

I aint 50...but I would bet I am in one of the higher tears of age groups that use this site. but I don't really qualify since I haven't rolled in a very long time. but there are several people here that are 30+, 40+ and even 50+. every once in a while a person like yourself passes through asking the same question...but the are few and far between and don't seem to stick around very long.

True but...

I've been here a while and... Luckily, I am still kicking.
For the moment anyway...
:)

Ah that sucks mate, When i go to raves if i see someone who is 50+ I always shake there hand and tell them i think they are well cool, and they shouldnt stop going out!
To go and have fun , in fact someone i regularly see out at raves is your age and we both chat shit and laugh our heads off, im 19 btw,
and he always says im like a wonky donky haha. Hes always on a bit of mdizzle i think, i dont think he does any of the horsey stuff Tee hee

Age is no barrier to me. (Unless a girl is too young.. then it definately is)

I'm getting to the age where younger people will tell me "it's great you're still going out". It's quite depressing!

My wife and and I do not go out too often when we roll as... Well, things can get weird.
You know how crazy things can get when the walls and boundaries seem to disappear.
But when we do roll, it is at home and she is definitely game, just not into the public scene mores because she does not want any of her friends or family to spot her.
Everyone thinks she's a good little girl, heh.

Yes, there are older rollers. No, we don't typically show up at raves or clubs; we party among ourselves. Yes, we do the same things younger people do when high on E. Every few months someone raises this issue, and usually a discussion ensues that leads to several old hands saying "take it easy, slow down, don't do it too often, and you can do it and maintain a grown up lifestyle forever." I've been doing psychedelics since the 60s, E since the mid-90s, and see no reason ever to stop. Find a group that is age tolerant, and have fun with them forever. My friends and I are all over 55, some are approaching 70, all "pillars of our communities."

I personally am still pretty young, but my father still likes to "Party" on occasion (a few times a year).
He used to be a real acid head back in the day and still trips every once in a great while.
I think it's cool that some people can still enjoy these kind of things even after they have "grown up".
A lot of the people I know find drug use immature, but I have to disagree.

i'm in my fifties and i've been taking mostly psychedelics since i was a young kid - 13 or so. my situation is a little different. i'm an artist/musician and have always lived on the outside of mainstream culture, plus i live in northern Cali and my close fam is mainly rainbow/psychedelic/electronic people of all ages. also because of the way i look i don't have problems if i need to score. usually i procure from friends though, so it's not an issue anyway.

i did notice something funny though. i went to a large festival on the east coast last year - WV ;-) and young guys kept approaching me wanting to get me high and talk. lol. one night i was there alone (my friend had wandered off somewhere) and rolling HARD, with Yonder Mountain playing onstage (crazy/amazing music to roll to), and i was surrounded by young dead heads making sure i was smoked out good. they seemed delighted by me.

believe me, MDMA doesn't feel any different to an older person than it does to someone young. Bom Shiva!

If you class yourself as 'over the hill' then just think about how people less than half your age will view / react to you!

I'm 40 I can honestly say that in the last few events / clubs I have visited I certainly did not feel 'over the hill' at all. I actually enjoy my experience and my understanding of the chemicals going around and love to share my knowledge (not everyone is happy to hear it though).

I'm only 25, but a lot of times going to raves makes me feel 'over the hill' ;)

Seriously though, after 22-23, you're not exactly in your drug-using twilight years... you're trying to get a full time job and live "real life." Granted, it's not hard to hit up the druggie friends you use to have to score some molly or what have you... I can't imagine trying to acquire drugs after 30... You've come to the right place though. It's against forum rules, but people trade drugs on these forums all the time.

gday everyone *)

im a new young at heart mature raver and all round party person, pleasure to meet you all *)*)

im 30 yrs old. ive been interested in electronicic musicic sine ive been sixteen. Been in the local scene for ten years plus. Alot of things have changed, its all about how you progress. Theres things out there that are readily available on the internet, 5-IAI, AM2201, RSC4...etc...

Daimo, If you have just turned 50 then your still a baby.
Im well past you and I still go hard and still am told I look younger than my brothers who are ten years younger than me.
Age is in your head.
However I do understand what you mean about perceptions because age is also in other peoples heads.
But I find that can also be a good thing.
It is getting bloody hard to find good stuff especially here In Australia but thats life I guess.
