Opioids Bleeding from nose after IV

I inject Suboxone a lot.
Recently Ive been having nose bleeds, usually soon after injecting.
5-10 minutes ago I injected, and am now having the worst nose bleed ever.
Within seconds of the injection I was feeling lightheaded, and felt something running out of my nose, wiped with hand, lots, and i mean lots of blood pouring from only my left nostril.

It is still going.

Is this normal?
What could be causing it?
I think I injected an air bubble, about the size of a pin head, could this cause it?
What about not being filtered enough?

I really want to know urgently, I mean I Feel OK, but the bleeding cant be good for me, what caused the bleeding cant be good for me.
 
are you filtering you bupe? if you are then you need to take your a$$ to the hospital asap.

oh yeah don't worry about air bubbles unless their 1mL or larger, because then they can kill you. But always take precautions when shooting make sure hold the needle tip straight up and flick the barrel to get the air to the top and get it out before injecting :)

Um i filter, but only through an ordinary ciggy filter, the shot is always still full of sediment and cloudy.
So not filtering properly will cause me to bleed?
Any theorys as to what causes it?
 
Filtering though a cigarette filter is not adequate. The murky solution should have raised a huge red flag.
Don't shoot your subs until you acquire some wheel/micron filters.
 
Yup, definitely don't shoot a cloudy solution!

I really can't think of a physiological reason for your IV buprenorphine to cause a nose bleed. Commonest causes are allergies/upper respiratory tract infections causing your nasal mucosa to dry out, medications which mean your blood doesn't clot as readily, and high blood pressure. If anything I'd have thought IVing bupe would cause low blood pressure, but perhaps the act of IVing is activating your fight or flight mechanism (sympathetic nervous system) causing a spike in your BP?

Drinking alcohol exacerbates nose bleeds as it is a vasodilator.

I think you need to get this checked out - there are a lot of things that can predispose you to getting nosebleeds (abnormalities in your nose itself, clotting disorders, vitamin K deficiency etc) and as it has happened several times now it needs investigating really.

Do you know what to do when you get one? Pinch the fleshy part of your nose (not the cartilage, this doesn't do anything!) and tip your head forwards to prevent the blood from going down the back of your throat. Sit down and stay calm! Ice packs across the bridge of your nose help as they cause the blood vessels to constrict. If it hasn't slowed to a trickle or stopped after 5 minutes, you need to get some medical help. Sometimes people need their noses packing to get it to stop and in extreme cases it is possible to lose a dangerous amount of blood - this isn't common at all and most stop naturally, but do get help if you need it! If you swallow a lot of blood it can make you feel really sick, so be aware of that too..

dude u must really be inexperienced....u need to start reading up on filtering bupe, or your gonna end up killing yourself... there are special filter u need to buy before shooting bupe, and if you cant afford it, then dont bother!
 
Without micron filtering, please don't inject Suboxone.

Furthermore, I haven't ever had a nosebleed as a result of IV buprenorphine, and air bubbles less than 1ml aren't going to cause any problems. The tiny air bubbles in a 1ml syringe are normal and will not kill you.

As others have said, please go to the doctor. There must be something causing it, and I'm sure it's nothing you listed here.

Last, you didn't use the correct prefix; we have a (bupe) prefix for a reason.
