What's the deal guys? I assume no one has formulated a generic version of Opana ER yet. Why? Any news as to when we should be expecting some to make their way onto the market? Its been YEARS -- I can't imagine there's no news out there....

OpanaER is the so called "replacer" to the Oxy 80's. This medication is fairly new (obviously) and has been on the market for a short period of time. I would expect that some companies have already started making a generic form of the pill. OpanaER is very expensive and "some" insurance companies will not cover it. Well from what I have seen, but I wouldn't be surprised to see something in the near future. These are my favorites by far!!

So no one has heard anything about a generic form coming out in the near future? When I look on my insurance's "what medication's we cover page" it lists "oxymorphone hcl ER 15mg generic". BUT, that is the only dosage that it lists and I have NEVER EVER even heard of 15mg oxymorphone....have any of you? Brand name Opana is just crazy expensive....you would THINK some manufacturer would've decided to come out with a generic by now....

Is it possible the name brand is monopolizing the market?
