From what I know given my background in the BJJ society, the Gracie family highly advocates what I stated above hand. They're well known for using coconut milk before a competition for extra electrolytes to help stay hydrated. However coconut milk is, as I've heard, not the best thing to take in routinely.
To be honest, meal times mean nothing on weight loss/gain. It has an affect on your metabolism for a short amount of time, but in the grand scheme of things, eating often won't make you skinny or buff.
