I can only ditto what others have said..If anyone here has actually experienced this shit first hand i doubt that they will feel comfortable talking about it..except Claire..She loves being rapped..honest.

To the OP (and to answer the question PROPERLY)... No... VERY rarely does it happen. In my time (12 months), in Max Security to Min Security, NEVER did I see/experience it... I heard it happens more in the "protection" prisons rather than mainstream.

Basically, it only happens to homosexuals, and they are targeted by long termers (15 + years)... Still, this is very minimum.

All I can say is I spent a night in the lockup once, and it was nothing like gay porn at all.

What a fucking load of bollocks (or not, as the case may be).

Coincidentally, there was also no rapping.

Pretty scary stories there. I dont doubt that it happens at all. Ive spoken to a lot of young guys who have been in and out of jail and if anyone brings this subject up there is usually a dead silence.

I did hear some nasty stories from a former female inmate though.
