so recently, my friends came up with this "idea" where we drop some tussin, a bottle or two in the bottom of a fountain drink, then add drink, then split it between the group of us. sounds stupid i know, i thought so too [LOL DUDE THATS NOT REAL LEAN], sounds like some little kid shit, but it gives you a nice alcohol-like buzz that i like better than robotripping itself... but anyways, I was looking for any fountain drink combinations that could go well with some Robo.. i was thinking dr. pepper.. but i dont even know.. lol

Robitussin is not the "syrup" that's referred to in rap lyrics. There's no codeine in it.

I would not mix it with anything. It's like trying to mix creosote into your soda - you have a large volume of nasty tasting drink. My personal opinion is you should slug the syrup down and then rinse your mouth with carmel-colored drink like cola or Dr. pepper.

Fun fact: over the counter cough syrup tastes like ass to discourage recreational use (Shulgin discussed this, it's why Romilar caps dissapeared). In general, prescription-strength cough syrup with e.g. codeine and promethazine is lacking the hardcore thickeners and bittering agents (ammonium chloride) and tastes mostly like sweeteners and artificial grape flavour. (or whatever flavour it is). hence why Rx syrups make it into "drank" - adding a little soda and some hard candy makes a tasty, intoxicating drink.

Exactly - the actual DXM content of Robitussin Dry Cough Forte is 1/333 the volume of the drink. The rest is specifically engineered to taste terrible. It also discourages toddlers from opening the bottle and sculling it.

OP, like sekio said, don't try diluting the syrup, it's too overpowering and it will just give you even more of the horrid shit to get through. Pinch your nose, scull, don't stop until you've got it all down, and THEN follow with something strong, like orange juice or mountain dew.
