Weed making opiate withdrawal worse, why?

... yeah... w/ds really aren't all that bad until the oppies leave your system.

Immodium ain't gunna save you.

I believe I read in a thread on here a while back that the reason cannabis causes anxiety is that it antagonizes GABA receptors through some kind of indirect mechanism. I can't remember the details, maybe someone more knowledgeable than I could explain. Anyways, I think that besides that side effect, cannabis could help with the nausea, muscle pains, restless legs, etc that are caused by withdrawal. I would imagine that 10mg of diazepam, or even a Soma or 2 would be all that you would need to counteract this side effect and take advantage weed's medicinal effects to alleviate your WDs.

Re: opiate withdrawal. Kratom helps tremendously. It contains opioid receptor agonists, but they are less specific for the mu receptor than typical rx opiates, thus less wd. So first wean off the rxs using kratom, then use pot to wean off kratom... but weaning off kratom isn't bad at all

Hey what's your take on lyrica? My doc just gave me a bunch for the shingles on my scalp.
Lyrica is like the new neurontin and will help with opiate wd although I've never personally used it. I'm sure if you do some searching here on BL you will find a ton of info.
