Improvements for Pillreports 2011

Im not sure what you mean on this as you havent actually suggested anthing? Are you suggesting that anything other than MDMA be classed as adulterated and a warning / not classed as Ecstasy?

Where do we draw the line between with this though? Should a MDMA/MDA pill be classed as Adulterated the same way a MDMA/Speed pill should?

No no, sorry... I was trying to point out meth and PMA are still issues, but ketamine is relatively uncommon these days... but cathinones, pipes DMA and other RC's have become commonplace...

Perhaps the intro paragraph on pillreports (the first paragraph I had in my first posting... I just copy and pasted from PR) should be updated to include these more common adulturants;)

Yup, I understand what you mean and I will see if I can have this updated to include piperazines, research chemicals etc.

Ketamine isnt that common an adulterant now and I dont know many people who have a bad reaction from a few pills etc.

Thanks

it would be good to have a user rating next to their name as well as when they joined. to see if their reports and comments are trustworthy

I agree - the one thing that make me reluctant in developing this is hardly anyone actually takes the time in rating the report. When more people actually take the time in rating the report I will look into having a 'user rating' added.

There should be a section on the left of each region where users can post their ecstasydata.org submissions. It can have a picture of the pill, area, and date submitted. When the pill is posted on edata, the link to the result can then be added too.

That way people don't end up making multiple submissions on the same pill, which is a waste of time for edata and a waste of money for the users.

Also, will help prevent people just waiting around to see if results on edata pop up. If they see that nothing has been submitted, they can go ahead and submit theirs right away.

Maybe members who make multiple submissions can get the number in parenthesis by their username or something. That would give a lot of good karma to that user! :)

I think pillreports would increase their traffic immensly if they had something along the lines of "keep me updated on my region". This would let a user input their email and receive an email update when someone submits a report. When a user creates a report, let's say in the northeast, the people signed up would receive an email with a link saying "check out the new red spider monkeys in your area".

yeah i agree the membership dates are good. what does everyone think about having an average report rating next to user names aswell, for people who do reports. because there is always other users commenting on reports saying that whoever did the report are trying to sell shit and accusing them of being dealers, if there is a user report rating next to the user name this would help cancel out alot of the abusive and accusing comments. plus for new users it would be easier to see who to trust with the reports. anyone else agree?

I've noticed when I rate a report thumbs up, then go back on the page it says "no stars (1)". And I think I accidentally gave them a thumbs down, until I click on the report and it says "5 stars, one vote".. I don't get why it does that. Some of my reports have a few thumbs up but when I looked them up it would say "no stars (2)" on the results page, but it would be correct when I actually go on the report page.

ive wondered the same haha. im on PR and new to BL. ive stalked for years but just signed up. im so stoked for my test kit! should be coming in the mail here shortly. i never post on PR because i dont really seek mdma in my area but now that i have reagents i will be testing for the seattle area. off topic but whatever.

I have thought about this before and its fairly easy to implement - My reason behind not having this added is -

I'm my honest opinion a pill is way more than its content and the experiences shared by a lot of people give an insight as to why MDMA / Ecstasy is so much fun - older users can have a way different experience to new users. New users can be OMFG these are best pills ever - older users are Meh, average roll. I think its great to get a varied amount of feed back per pill. We could however add a simple drop down section - reported on ED Yes / No - Insert link ? What do you think?

I know this is so important and if you read back over the pages this is something were working on - the ability to see 'new / Updated' reports per section would be such a help to everyone (staff / users alike). This is in the pipeline though and will be added to the site as soon as we can (I've been saying that for three years now so please don't hold your breath :D)

Again another point that has been addressed again and again - I personally have mixed feelings about this. For one we have groups of people who simply shit on other reports - Chi town people dissing all 'Poke' reports and Socal people dissing all 'Mints' - the ratings would simply be messed up with people getting into a pissing contest with each other.

As I have said, time and time again - simply rate the report! If a person is seen to be making repeated false / fake / misleading reports then they will quickly get a bad name on the site and people will ignore them. IF a person is seen to be making a deliberate fake/false/misleading report then they will be banned. If anyone spots a fake/false/misleading report then report it - sometimes (quite often) its made by a new user who doesn't know piperazines from MDMA so we simply cut them some slack, inform them that what they are taking is not MDMA and go from there.

I know its been suggested before in several different ways... but a notification that other people have commemted on a report that you made or commented on would be awesome.... just like facebook posts/comments...

Perhaps highlight, star, or otherwise mark each report/comment that has a new comment since my last visit...

Any word on the feasability/reality of this sort of thing @bearlove?

Meth yes, PMA no.. The last edata confirmation of PMA was in 2000, it's very rare, same with DMA, only the one ninja turtle batch had DMA

Those ninja turtles went EVERYWHERE. People loved the "synthetic mescaline" too. A lot of people went to the hospital, I know 3 in Seattle died from these. They were made here too... :( I hope the presser gets the death sentence (for realz)

I think just showing all updated reports is more do-able to be honest and what were working on at the moment - this way when you log on you can see if the report you have commented on has been changed/updated (if you can remember which report you were talking on).

It is probably the most important update for the site so I will see where were at with this and let everyone know.

Just imo, I think there's a lot more newcomers who come thinking they know everything and they just start shitting everywhere and it makes a bad representation.

@thizzmachine... that will always be the case... that's why the "wise old trusted members" of pillreports and their comments are so valuable to the website...

Let the fools badmouth each other and spew bullshit... it only makes the rest of us look better...

I used to get all pissed off when iknew people were lying or wrong or full of shit... but now I don't mind at all... I just stick to reality and truth and such and let them destroy their credibility all on their own...

if you let someone get you all worked up.... they win...

Cream alway rises to the top... =D

How about making it easier to post pics... I have a fairly high end smartphone and there's no easy way for me to resize shit.... and when I'm posting stuff I don't wanna have to post links and crap its kinda a pain in the ass... isn't there some way pics can just be automaticly sized?

Yep i agree also the photo saga is the sites biggest let down. And it's a major one. Ive heard all about the server storage and stuff but yeh it's still really shit.

WHY? Simply upload your photo to imageshack and leave the URL in your report. I will do the rest - I have repeated this dozens of times in all sections.

When were on the subject - PLEASE remember to check if your phone includes the location of where the photo is taken 'before' uploading to the site. We have seen several photos that give the exact location as to where the photo was taken.

Picassa - picresize, shrinkpictures are all free applications to resize your image.

I simply cannot stress enough - if your having problems uploading your image (due to size etc) then upload to imageshack and leave the URL in your report - I will simply download your photo, resize it, remove any personal details, upload to your report and remove the link to protect your privacy.

Failing that you can always upload your photo here and ask me to attach to your report.
