hello all.
ive been an opiate user for a few years, and recently came into a heroin source. my favorite opiate is oxycodone and i prefer it orally. i have a decent tolerance but do not use every day.

after only 3 times so far with heroin, i have noticed something. i know that all opiates cause both constipation and urinary retention. the constipation never bothers me really since i can still usually make a movement every day or two. however, the urinary retention really gets to me. with pharmaceutical opiates ive only experienced it a handful of times and it wasnt ever really bad, but every time ive done heroin it makes it almost impossible to pee. most often i end up having to go outside at night and pee in my backyard because i just cannot get it going in the restroom.

so my first question is; is heroin more likely to cause this effect than other opiates, could this possibly be due to a cut, or am i just unlucky? (the stuff is light tan and comes in little rocks that turn to powder pretty easy, and is sometimes already powdery. my ROA is nasal if any of thats important)

my second question doesnt require me to ramble before asking; i often use tums to extend the peak when i use oxycodone and i can definitely tell the difference. would tums have any effect on the high of heroin? my gut says no, but i have no reason why i feel that way.

thank you for your reply. i am quite aware of this. ive experienced it with other opiates, but not very often. the heroin seems to cause it every single time. i was curious as to whether or not heroin has a greater effect on urinary retention than other opiates, mainly oxycodone.
 
The urine retention is caused by the desensitizing of your cowper's gland and bladder. Heroin will naturally cause it to happen more, because its effects are stronger than codone.
 
Heroin certainly is particularly notorious for causing urinary retention and morphine/heroin always caused it much worse for me than any (other) pharmaceutical opioids or opiates. I don't know of any reason why tums would be beneficial with oxycodone OR heroin. What's your reason for taking it with oxycodone? Such antacids are frequently used with amphetamines and similar drugs for potentiation purposes and certain antacids such as cimetidine potentiate some opioids and benzos due to CYP450 system enzyme inhibition, but I've never heard of calcium carbonate or similar compounds being used for oxycodone or other opioid potentiation purposes.

from what ive gathered the tums just stop the oxycodone from being broken down as quickly due to a more basic environment, resulting in not stronger effects, but adds an hour or so to the high
 
Yes, heroin will have that effect on you being able to wee. It takes a bit of practice but you get the nack of it eventually. Not that I am encouraging you to regularly use heroin at all but if it's a route you go down it does get easier. I must encourage you not to use regularly, it is a horrible drug to be addicted to and a worse one to come off so in the interest of harm reduction try to keep your use to a minimum and don't use more than two days running. Of course you are an adult and can make your own mind up but I've been down that road and it's not fun, I'd feel guilty if I didn't stress that point.

Adding to the point of problems with urinating, I also find that opiates make it difficult to edjeculate and in particular, heroin makes it damn near impossible. This sounds ideal for some people but it is a problem. Just thought I'd add that in there as I'm sure I'm not the only one to experience this.
 
Top tips for peeing on opioids (I'm sure I've posted these before, haha..)

- sit down and get comfy, you might be a while
- run a tap
- distract yourself by reading or texting someone or something
- try running warm water on your wrists
- if all fails, get in a warm shower (less gross than peeing in a bath, but in hospitals they will sit you in a bath tub)

Last one is not so easily explained if you have company.

These are legitimately the best solutions. I also find that if I'm trying to pee and my boyfriend comes in and starts talking to me, it immediately makes it even more difficult because of the distraction. It's almost like I have to focus all of my concentration on trying to urinate. I usually end up in the shower when this happens, which immediately resolves the issue.
 
I dont think Ive had trouble peeing. o_O. But I do have the constipation problem when doing heroin and stuff. ALthough a lot of my guy friend seems to have the trouble peeing
 
yes when peeing on opiates i always grab whatever newspaper or magazine laying around and i spell out a sentence or two to myself in my head and it usually lets me pee. however sometimes i simply cannot pee without the freedom of not having to aim so my usual solution is to 'go out for a smoke' and pee out in the middle of the back yard. (if at night, if its day ill go round side) this almost always works when combined with the first method above. its just sometimes its odd to just walk outside.

and @Glitched - i have kept my usage down. i get subutex from a friend as often as possible and would rather get prescription opiates. the only thing that really gets me is the price. its not a better quality high IMO, but its way too cheap and im overpaying for my H too since theres one person in my town that has it.
 
one more way to pee on heroin!

after finding the thread about urinary retention, I closed the window and couldn't find it again! maybe i'm still feeling hazy from the morningwakeup bang 8)

I dont know if this exact method has been posted here already, but I figured that it wouldn't hurt to re-post (what does hurt, is not being able to enjoy normal bodily functions - ahh opiates)

2 things:

- this method is specific to peeing
- also, this method is specific to being a guy (sorry ladies can't help ya here)

recently, after a couple days of the , "will I ever piss again?" feeling :! :X, and trying all the different methods already posted, I stumbled upon a pretty decent method to get it all out:

*this method is no exact science, everyone should mess around with it and find what works for you:

take one hand ( don't think it matters too much, except for maybe stability/ grip strength's sake - go with your uh ... dominant hand in this situation %) and wrap it around the base of your penis like you're about to choke the chicken, make sure you have a nice firm grip

foreskin or not, peel it back until the red rocket is ready for takeoff! ;)

* I find that this next step does tend to help greatly - run a lil water and get that hand nice and moist/wet, if you feel like it helps;
like I said, different strokes * literally * for different folks =D

while maintaining a firm grip, NOT an overly tight one, use the palm of your other hand, still sufficiently moist, and RUB, in a circular/ back and forth motion at varying speeds to directly stimulate the very tip/urethra - if done correctly (and like I said, experiment b/c it'll differ from one guy to another) you should finally feel the nice, almost overwhelming urge to piss; the feeling is much like a great blowjob that directly stimulates the most sensitive part of your one-eyed monster, just the tip. LET THE FLOODGATES OPEN! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh %) 8( :o

oh and be sure to relax as much as you can, don't hold your breath or freak out or force it - now once you get it started, however ...

who would have thought being able to take a piss again would feel SO DAMN GOOD?! <3 8o

I get urinary retention from my Opana and my Roxi's. It fucking sucks. The only thing I have found that helps is drinking some water or gatoraid.. When I drink water I have to piss alot. Heroin does it the same as the rest for me. So I find drinking a healthy amount of water and the shower thing helps. The constipation is the bigger bitch for me though.
 
I have this same problem. It sucks because sometimes I can't even enjoy my high because I have to pee so badly.

I also have to go outside sometimes because for some reason it's a lot easier than when using a toilet. For me, this is the worst side effect of heroin.
