The Drugs and Music Mega Thread

I imagine LSD and MDMA mixed would be quite amazing.

If you're talking a single drug, however, I still think cannabis is the king. With some psychedelics, music can quickly become overwhelming...
 
LSD. Foxy, mdxx, ketamine, pcp, alcohol, cocaine, dx, gbl,ghb, bdo, all seem to make music THAT musch better. 2CE did a neat pitch shift thing which was really interesting, and i have heard, no pun intended (and no EXP) that DiPT is supposed to be insane with music.
 
over all cannabis is a big one for me, as are mushrooms. i've never been into raving so i can't say the party-ish drugs(mdma,k,etc.) are to my taste in any way, including musically. opiates give me a great appreciation for slow, down tempo type stuff, jazz, grunge,psychedelic type shit etc. as do benzos to some degree. alcohol as well really.. now that i think about it i tend to just enjoy music more in general when i'm comfortably high

Wouldn't call it my favorite, but there's something special about laying in a hammock on a cloud(aka high dose of opiates) as the music becomes the theme to your awoken dream.....some drugs make my brain overactive and it becomes difficult to really listen to the music, not the case with opiates.
 
I no longer smoke it these days but I remember that weed always made music sound so much better.
I could listen to a song and hear each and every instrument playing their part and coming together to make the song. Magical
 
Drugs and music =D

Hey all, I was thinking about drugs and music, and how drugs have influenced my taste and the reasons behind it.
So I'll start by mentioning my past taste, when I was first really getting into music (13/14 years old) I was always into punk and metal.
I really never though my taste would change, until I get into the drug scene.

There is no doubt that different drugs stimulate different tastes.

Alcohol I've always found I can listen to any music provided it's not too soft. Alcohol is great for songs coming on that people can get in a circle together and sing/yell lyrics and love it.

Marijuana, the softer music always preveils, or unusual music.

Mushies (and I assume other psychadelics) I've always found it needs to be something both mellow and predictable. Metal becomes awful unless you know all the lyrics. Trance and Dance goes up and down. Bits you love and bits leave me feeling uneasy. But for the most part you want some quiet background music that doesn't overwrite talking. You want it more as a background with the occasional bit that you can get into for a minute and then go back to tripping.

Methamphetamines to me is an amplifer across the board. Any music I enjoy sober on whip sounds and feels so much better.

Ecstasy there is no doubt that it makes anything electric or trancey becomes a new level of amazing. You feel the coming up, and you can't wait for the big parts to outbreak to be amongst everyone else feeling the same and truly LOVING the music.
But even more so, ecstasy has influenced the music I enjoy sober. 5 years ago I never thought I would love trance/dubstep and general dance music as much as I do now. It Could be simply me changing taste, but I have no doubt that ecstasy is responsible for this. I've never been to a metal concert on MDMA but I don't know how it would feel, I think I'd enjoy it, but I'd be wishing it was more electric the whole time.

For opiates and other drugs I've never tried I'm curious to see how it has influenced music on each of you and if you agree with how I feel about other drugs and music.





Pretty drunk right now... so I'll update in the next few days with a bit more info haha, but for the mean time I just wanna see what everyone else has to say =)

OMG opiates. Me and a friend are talking now about how floyd's comfortably numb.... The rise and fall of the music how it's like aaaaAAAHHHhhhhh before and during the hello hello hello... That's what it feels like to shoot opiates or hell no tolerance and even snorting ull get that. Also the opening bars of velvet and nico's heroin. Even the way the word heeeeeerrrrrOOIiinnnn is said in that song speaks to the rise and fall I'm talking about. My friend says iM ing ketamine is the same as well but I dunno I've not shot it yet. Snorted apparently just ain't the same lol. Lyric from heroin that talks- it's my wife and its my life

Ps breaking 7 day opiate detox today. I've been fantasizing a week about how I'll feel ... Opiates r my one love. Only one. I will listen to these songs in my nod. Hellsss yessssssss ! It's involuntary detox for drug test. Nothing will make a person appreciate their opiates like WDs

This song is almost like an anthem for me and 1 of my close friends , both of us get amped up when hearing it even when just drinking.

The idea of speeding down the highway with this song blasting for me is an amazing thought , its the tune that i describe as "menacing" along
side the "tribal" feel of the drum's that just amps me right up.

Kinda song id play if i had a car load of the boy's and were just out looking to run a muck.
