i'm thinking of running accutane on cycle to prevent any acne. what dosage do you guys recommend? right now i have small blemishes on my face and may get an actual pimple once a month or twice MAX... but i generally have a clear face.

NO That is a bad idea!

It is not a safe drug, IMO. It is supposed to only be prescribed to people with severe acne and no other treatment seems to work well.

Despite any degree of acne, I would always recommend people stay away from acutane.

Wow, talk about overkill.

What are you running and at what dose? If it's not tren then I seriously doubt you will have noticeable acne.

Horrible, horrible drug. Wrecks your liver, creates unending discomfort. Sore joints, chapped lips, vision issues. Worst acne cure ever invented. It's like taking dnp when you only have a pound to lose.

And, it doesn't always work. It's not a permanent solution as many think.

Best bet, tanning 1-2x per week. Keep yourself moisturized. Wipe down with rubbing alcohol when you feel greasy. Benzyl peroxide for spot treatment.

I'll disagree somewhat with T Durden, who I hope is posting from a personal experience and not what they read.

I took accutane and the worst part with respect to working out is the total body soreness when you first start treatment.

It causes pores buried deep in your skin to empty. It is not fun. You do not take it for prevention and doctors will not loosely prescribe it due to the lawsuits.

It takes a lot of will to deal with what the medicine does.

So my advice, go ahead and try it on the cycle! =)

Accutane has to be used under the care of a physician. You need to use it for months to cure acne and you need constant blood work and tests. You don't take it just because you are worried about some pimples on a cycle.

The side effects from that drug are shit. Your lips will peel and your skin will dry out like leather. It's only prescribed to people with acne so bad that the side effects don't matter because they are so fucked appearance wise already. That shit will rot your liver as well.

Don't be a fucking idiot.

Couldn't agree more with what others have said here. Accutane is nasty shit. I've had it when younger and it really fucks you over. Skin is less resistant to infection, it really hits your joints hard so trying to workout on that stuff would be counter productive - you just wouldn't have the stamina and positive mindset to workout effectively. As for the liver I think drinking a carton of beer a day would be far less taxing on the hepatic system.

If you are looking for a quick 'zit' fix then go to a regular GP and get onto Clindatech, a topical antibiotic that generally works very well.

Exfoliate in the shower at night. Problem solved.

I have been using steroids and I might only get a blemish or two a week at most because I exfoliate in the shower at night and also wash with facial cleanser. I also moisturize and use tea-tree oil and vitamin E on trouble spots.

If you establish a daily skin care regime not only will it prevent steroid related acne but it will improve your skin's health.

I cant agree more. It is total POISON imo. It destroyed my mood the WHOLE time i was on it and it destroyed my short term memory. NEITHER problem resolved immediately upon completion of the
treatment. It can also mess up your hair/skin forever in some people.

It will likely be pulled from the market in the next 10 years for good, they already have to label it as causing suicide in some people and causing MAJOR birth defects in children.

Again it is a POISION.

nasty shit. i was on it 6 years ago, cant remember how long i took it, but it fucked my lips up at the time, for some reason for years after my cheeks would go red, became quite socially withdrawn and anxious, depressed. messed my concentration up a bit. still, it was worth taking though, my acne was fucking awful. so glad it got rid of my acne. they told me i had to check regularly into the doctors to monitor my mood, blood work, but never did either. drank on it as well. not clever

Accutane works by targeting cells which reproduce quickly, this explains many of the side effects.

Giving teenagers this drug for acne is just ridiculous IMO.

It also increases someone's likelihood of committing suicide without becoming depressed beforehand.

did you ever take it? i find that the antibiotics are the much better route for acne with washing.
