So I got some mushies Ill be eating very soon, and want to try ginger to help with any nausea. I have powdered cooking ginger, which should work. I dont want to just eat it straight, so my question is if I filled an empty and cleaned out melatonin cap with ginger and took that would it be enough ginger, and would it work correctly? They are relatively small caps, so would 2 be better?

The ginger might be really old BTW... at least a couple years.

Quick answers appreciated!

Go to a natural food store like Whole Foods or Central Market and buy some ginger pills. Actually Wal-Mart has them in the same section you get melatonin in. They are pure ginger root and they work the best

yes i think ginger & mushrooms is a particularly good idea

The level of nausea compared to acid is incredible

of course chop the ginger finely to maximise surface area and thus absorbtion, but thats just basic chemistry

The stale ginger in your kitchen cupboard isn't as potent as freshly grated ginger root.

Next time, keep a fresh root around the house and grate a teaspoon of it into a cup of steaming water. Add lemon and honey to taste, and sip liberally :)

Fresh ginger root will stay good at room temperature for a few weeks. Neat trick to keeping ginger longer than that-- use the edge of a spoon to shave the skin off it, then stick the naked root in a plastic bag and freeze it. It will remain potent (and shreddable) in the freezer for months.

Try ginger tea. If you're familiar with the brand Yogi, they sell it. You could probably make it yourself too by grinding some ginger and putting it in a loose tea steeper. It also works amazingly as a chaser.
