Opioids Loperamide / Imodium - does it prolong withdrawal?

This stuff really just killed my withdrawal symptoms - 9 months on DHC, trams, etc.

I can't image its not going to prolong withdrawal?

dude it's unreal... imodium (generic loperamide) didn't do anything for me in the past. today I've taken about 14mg, 6mg, and 6mg, for a total of 26 mg... and ALL of my w/d are gone. this never happened before. I'm coming off about 500-600mg of DHC chewed

Loperamide does prolong withdrawal, you have to taper off it.

traybuck-170mg of methadone is a large dose and very little loperamide gets into the brain, that is probably why it didn't work for you. Loperamide is better suited for smaller habits.

loperamide does cross the BBB, but specifically the loperamide in Imodium does not cross the BBB due to the magnesium stearate it is combined with. Imodium might help by easing withdrawal symptoms, but i doubt it will suspend your w/d

do you think so?? it wont suspend a 500-600mg (5-6tab chewed up) DHC habit over 9months?
I've used oxys, vics, pods so I know what a hardcore habit is...

lemme go pop 5 generic loperamides and see if that gives me some relief... im sitting here in drenched in sweat, otherwise I feel okay

the only relief i get from imodium when W/D'ing is it plugs me up.

And even then, i sometimes wish i could shit just to make that gut-pain go away.

I found i get little to no help at all from it.

what were you coming off of? and how much imodium were you taking?
its definitely helping me this time, never in the past

i just came off dhc and tramadol too.
at the end of my taper i took 8mg loperamide a day and it totally helped.

now for the post withdrawl depression. ooOooo yeah.
