GILBERT, Ariz. – An Arizona mother has been accused of abusing her 10-month-old daughter by blowing cannabis smoke into her mouth to stop her crying after she hit her, the Arizona Republic reported Tuesday.

Jessica Callaway, 21, was arrested on suspicion of child abuse Saturday after her roommate captured video footage of her hitting her daughter. Police said the video showed Callaway picking her baby up by her left leg, spanking her and slapping her face.

After interviewing the roommate, police learned Callaway also blew cannabis smoke into her baby's mouth several times.

Hitting one's children is pretty violent, but hitting a 10-month old infant who is too little to talk or walk or understand much of anything is inexcusable. Slapping a 10-month old's face is evil.

Take the kid away and give her to someone who won't hit her, I would say.
 
No, I don't think weed is good for a 10 month old, I don't think it would fix the abuse. This lady doesn't deserve her kid, even without considering she blew weed smoke in her kids face. Weed is great-for people who can be responsible with it. This isn't difficult but what she did isn't responsible.

This exactly, the rest of the drug culture is stereotyped by idiots and bad apples that stand out for their absurd idiotic behavior. Even if it's just marijuana smoke.
 
I am not even going to read the rest of the comments on this post... All i have to say is fucking lock this bitch ass mother up for the rest of her life... I would say ship her off to a deserted island but that would be "abuse" in the eyes of our law. But our law system abusing the fuck outta people everyday when they put people in cages and ruin their "reputation" when arresting people for drug possession... FUCK THE SYSTEM, FUCK THIS WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all of u are fucking nuts. im sorry but BL community is the only place where people still seem to have a will and an independent thinking strategy.
 
Personally, I am far less offended by her blowing cannabis smoke in her baby's mouth than hitting the baby.

Drugs, especially alcohol, are used in dozens of cultures across the world to calm babies.
I would strongly urge against the use of drugs with babies, and I consider the mother to be ignorant.
However, the damage from the cannabis smoke will likely be minimal.
The damage (physical and psychological) from the hitting seems far greater.
 
Well, another abusive parent that needs to be put in her place. Drugs have nothing to do with how this mother abused her child. Weed didnt make her more abusive or an angrier person, if this is what the news media is trying to get across. This mother needs to be beat to a pulp to understand what she has done psychologically & physically to her child. This child needs to be adopted by a couple that is willing to give it their love & take it in as their own child.

O hey your definitley right about the cannabis smoke. I was flippin through the channels last night and came across nancy grace talking about this case. Its getting alot of public attention.

Anyway ms nancy had a doctor on there and she was all sounding disgusted n shit like "ok doc tell us howw muchh damage is going to be caused from this marijuana smoke being blown directly in her mouth!"

The doctors response couldnt have went any better he cool and calmy said,u know nancy often we have cases of kids being fed weed cookies and obtaining much higher levels of thc in their systems so i beleive occasional blowing of marijuana smoke in the childs mouth will have very minimal damage if any.

Which i mean is an honest response. He could have easily rattled off a bunch of bullshit but he didnt. But yea the psychological abuse is going to be unreal. I wish the best for this kids future.
