Hello,

I've done large doses of adderall in the past and even smoked crystal methamphetamine a few dozen times in the past 4 months..Doing it everyday for a week or two, but always forcing myself to get sleep because I know sleep deprivation is terrible for you...

Anyways, I quit all stimulant usage 2 weeks ago, haven't touched any since and never again plan too, but I'm stuck with a dry mouth feeling, which isnt that bad but ever since I did meth I'm always clenching my jaw now....its been weeks and I'm still doing it.. Why?

Also, I feel kind of "unmotivated" ever since I took the stimulants which is caused from depleted dopamine correct? How quick willl I repair my dopamine levels? It's not like I did meth for months or even years or even on a constant basis, so I'm curious

your brain will re-regulate over the course of a month or two. Some of this could be residual learned sympathetic patterns that your body just needs conditioning in order to forget (or replace with new traits).

One thing that always helps is lots of exercise.

I found I got the same effect from sparse MDMA and chronic cocaine use, after a couple of months it subsided. After I stopped I just smoked a lot of reefer, but I still noticed the bruxism--constant sympathetic stimulation sounds like a valid answer.

it took a good solid two weeks for me to stop clenching my jaw and biting the inside of my mouth after stopping methamphetamine. even now i catch myself doing it but i'm able to notice it easily and stop. it will go away with time. as for the motivation, definitely get some exercise or get moving. i wouldn't be spending all of my time sleeping and vegging out, ya know? it doesn't help with the depression/anxious feeling and i don't know about you but boredom and vegging out are a recipe for cravings in my situation.

take some vitamins too, another bl'er recommended fish oil supplements to me.

Magnesium deficiency is common in amphetamine users.

I am sure if you try eating a decent meal, getting plenty of water to drink, as well as taking a magnesium supplement, you will be grinding your teeth a lot less.

Agreed.

I caught myself jaw clenching long after my little amphetamine binges. I also felt like I couldn't accomplish anything unless I was geeked up.

Jaw clenching can be a bad-habit, so catch yourself doing it. As for the lack of motivation, push yourself despite having little reward (In the head). You'll thank yourself later.

I did meth daily for 4 years, and MDMA like every month for 10 years... i felt like I got into a habit of clenching my teeth. The unmotivated part will pass, for me it was mainly I was USED to feeling "up" and awake, so when my eyes got heavy i was like, WTF is that? I heard from medical pros that the brain actually is more self-healing than thought, after meth use, and you should feel normal in a couple more weeks probably.

Hey Cap'n your ion deficiency and also our friend's stress point made me think. Doesn't K+ depletion cause muscles to be sore and tighten up? I was thinking this along with Ca2+ since that is a signal strength mediator between tissues. If there was an imbalance could this cause partial clenching or paralysis of the muscles in certain areas causing the body to compensate with others? Not sure if this is correct, but I'm just bouncing an idea and would like to know if I'm correct in the least.

Go buy yourself a mouthpiece at any drug store. Or you can get a mouthpiece from a sporting goods store. Put the mouthpiece in very hot water, then put it in your mouth, and bite down on it to form it to your teeth. This will help you out BigTime..!! You can wear it anytime you are clenching. The mouthpiece will help out with pain, and protect your teeth from breaking. Use the mouthpiece as long as you need it. I had to get one after years of mdma, and LSD abuse. I had my dentist make my mouthpiece, but a store bought one will do fine.
