Come-Down Therapy Thread

Can we get a discussion about techniques we use to come down off of various drugs such as amphetamines or cocaine?

It would make sense that we all have our ways of coping with this.

Please be creative and help out.

Unfortunately we don't have long discussion threads in BDD anymore (take a look at the "state of BDD" at the top of the forum).

I'd say Drug Culture probably has a lot of information on this, and possibly your regional forum, Healthy Living or even The Dark Side.

Overall rehydration, nutrition, sleep, being cosy and comfortable, sex/masturbation, distracting yourself with tv/film/book/computer game, vitamins and various supplements tend to be the things people recommend. I need a couple of days, lots of juice and cushions and someone to moan with, haha..

I'm going to send this to DC as it seems the best fit - DC mods, let me know if you don't do comedown-y threads in your forum :)
 
I use to always drink alcohol when I came down from amphetamines that were prescribed to me by my doctor. That's not the safest though. Marijuana is probably a bit better along with some vitamins. I'd suggest Melatonin before bed as well, that always helped me. Taking a hot shower would help relax my tense muscles.

This experience comes from 4 months of prescribed amphetamines everyday. Eventually the anxiety overcame me and I haven't touched them in around a year. Just looking at an adderall makes me get anxious and depressed these days. I never abused, I think they just brought out a lot of underlying anxiety after a while.
 
I've come to realize how bi-polar amphetamines are. Seems like the more you use them the longer the anxiety and I am no anxious person. Come to think of it, thanks to that 30mg of dexamp I downed last night, I no longer have ANY klonopin today.

porn always gets my mind off of the shitty feeling :D
and usually after i've taken my vitamins and gotten some food in me i feel a little better.
the thing that works most for me is telling myself that its only a comedown, and it will end, and that i just need to learn to deal with it.
 
shooting H or various other high dosed opiates. although its counter-productive. never really digged benzos for stim. comedowns unless its my last resort.

for me the comedown last till the next day and on.... because sleep cycle is all fucked up. all the dopamine (feel good chemical) is used up.

But exercising the day after. break a sweat get the natural endorphins working. get some sleep if up all night. just dont sit around and do nothing.
