I took a total of 300mg yesterday, and then took 350mg total today. I would take 250mg at once, then another pill or two as it started to wear off.
When I lay down and close my eyes, I am getting attacks of twitchiness and sudden intense anxiety and deja vu, and a feeling that this sensation is accelerating or getting worse, so I open my eyes and sit up for a minute and it goes away.

Is what I'm experiencing an "aura" indiciating the onset of a tonic clonic seizure?
I also drink alcohol almost every other day, but I didn't today or yesterday because I didn't want to mix two depressants. Could a mild alcohol withdrawal mixed with tramadol give me a seizure?

If I go have a beer, will it reduce the likelihood of a seizure? Its been almost 10 hours since my dose of 250mg, and the opiate euphoria is mostly gone - now I'm just feeling the twitchy gross tramadol after-effects.

Ps, if a seizure is imminent, I'm not particularly worried, I just want to lay down in a wide open space as to avoid hitting my head on furniture and such. Ill just flop around for a few minutes then get on with the rest of my day

How does that make sense?

Oh and another question, how far might my convulsing body travel from it's starting position? Will I be giving myself enough room to safely flop around if I'm laying on say, a queen-size bed?

Seizures should not be taken lightly... look up Grand Male Seizures, it can be a little more than just "flopping around on your bed for a few minutes".

Please don't mess around with potentially dangerous tramadol dosages, the pleasure just isn't worth the risk. Just my 2 cents, it's your brain after all.

LMAO@flopping around.........seizures dont always consist of you flopping around & going off the bed. If it does happen to that extreme, then yes, you may fall off the bed even if its a king size. Just make sure there isnt anything sharp around the bed.

I don't think that you are having a seizure. You didn't mention how much you drink. Heavy drinkers can experience
seizures with alcohol withdrawal.

Tramadol does not cause seizures. Rather, it lowers the seizure threshold. If you are having an adverse reaction to
tramadol then perhaps you should not take it.

I've had a few tramadol seizures. This was from high doses taken all at once, 700mg+. When the tramadol would kick in at a dose this high taken all at once, I would jerk suddenly, and randomly, for about an hour or so. Everytime I would forget what I was talking about for a minute, and just kind of blank out. My jaw would clench, my whole body would suddenly convulse. It would happen several times, then pass and I'd be really high. The few times it's actually caused a seizure it was scary as fuck. I was totally lucid while completely paralyzed.

In my opinion, you are treading in seizure territory. This was the stage I was at before I realized taking tramadol 50-100mgs at a time over the course of hours not only increases the overall BA, but removes a lot of the 'zaps' and other unpleasant side effects. If you keep going up in dosage, and keep taking them all at once, you WILL have a seizure if you have these problems at doses under 400mg. I seriously recommend switching the way you ingest your pills.

Tramadol can cause seizures in high doses ingested all at once, I don't care what anyone says.

What do you mean?
Are you saying that if I take my 300mg dose over the course of a few hours rather than all at once, it will not only increase bioavailability and my high, but also reduce the risk of seizures?
Amazing, please tell me more as I am very interested in this. Tramadol is a very available and easily obtainable (not to mention, entirely legal) opiate for me - although it is not anywhere near being my "opiate of choice", I do enjoy it's long duration as well as it's mild opiate euphoria. However, I seek to mitigate the other icky effects it has on me, such as the headache i get after using it for a couple of days, and the gross twitchy malaise it gives me whenever I try to lay still in bed on it.

Anyone know if it's safe to take tramadol after taking 75mg of diphenhydramine the night before as a sleep aid?

And can I drink caffeine on tramadol?

When you take tramadol, it increases the BA for any tramadol that might enter your system after the first dose. No one knows why really, or if they do they aren't telling me. This method of ingestion is called "ramping," where you take multiple low doses over a period of time. I personally start with 100mgs and go up 50-75mgs every 20 minutes or so until I'm at around 250-300mgs. If I need another here or there I take it.

If I take my dose all at once, the side effects can often lay me up while I wait for the feeling to pass. When I dose in small intervals, most of my unpleasant side effects are gone. and the buzz builds slowly throughout the day, gently moving into sedation as the day goes on. By night, I'm nodding at my PC if I did it right.

You can certainly take OTC sleep aids, and caffeine is fine as long as you don't over-do it so much your heart starts pounding, that's not a lot of fun.

I've tried "ramping" 3 times now, each time I didn't get nearly as high as I do when I just take my dose all at once

I think its been said already but I want to make sure the OP understands this.

Grand Mal Seizures are not to be taken lightly. Its not like you just flop around for a min and get up and feel like you just woke up from a nap. Seizures like this are very traumatic and can cause a lot of pain and confusion for an extended period of time.

When I had mine I woke up not knowing who the fuck I was and was in so much fucking pain I could almost not move.

Just imagine all of your muscles uncontrollably contracting violently and think about the stress that alone puts on your body.

This is not a laughing matter, and although I have allowed this to stay open this long, there is really not serving the mission of bluelight which is to promote Harm Reduction.

Simply put: do not take more than 400mg of tramadol in a day. Do not take more and "plan" for a seizure. This is stupid, ignorant, and irresponsible. I am going to close this thread now, please think about the Harm Reduction value of your topic before posting any similar threads, and think about how an inexperienced drug user might interpret your post or the responses. PM me if you have any questions.
