What effects will 3mg of lorzepam do to someone with a xanax tolerance

Its about half as stong according to the conversion chart so thats 1.5mg alprazolam. So with a tolerance probably not a lot.
 
Depends on your tolerance mate. How much xanax are you used to taking for a buzz? Like i said Lorazepam is about half as stong so that would be 2.5mg. Which for me would be a substantial dose. But I have no tolerance.

Id go with the 3mg lorazepam. No more.

1mg lorazepam is approx. equal to 0.5mg alprazolam. Of course, alprazolam is a shorter-acting benzo so the effects will be different from person to person.
 
I edited that in after remembering where I was posting. HR and all that.

Go with 5mg. To be honest I hate not taking enough of something if you know what I mean.

You expect us to give you an answer to your question, but you provide us with no useful information whatsoever that would help us answer your question. You say you are a person "with a xanax tolerance", but you don't ever say exactly what that tolerance is. How could we possibly answer your question without knowing that information?

You could have used the first post to give us some background information such as what xanax dose you take, how long you've been taking it, whether you have a history with other benzos, etc etc. That's the type of information that we would need to be able to give you a decent answer. I know this is Basic Drug Discussion, but that doesn't mean it has to be Lazy Ass Put No Effort Whatsoever Into Asking A Question Drug Discussion. (:D)

Instead of actually making an effort to give us the information we would need to answer your question, you just write "Im am the OP". Yes, we realize that you are the OP, how could anyone not realize that? That's not a rhetorical question, I'm seriously curious as to what could be going on in your mind that you feel the need to inform us of that fact. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Agreed. Conversion charts seem to put 1mg loraz = .5mg alpraz, but this is extremely variable...when I was switched from xanax to ativan I spoke to the pharmacist for a while, and she said that it's not necessarily a perfect conversion and can be almost 1 to 1 for some people. If you usually take 4mg xanax, I'd try 4mg lorazepam to start out, and maybe add another 1mg. Lorazepam is a bit different, yes it has a longer half life, but by no means as long as clonazepam or diazepam. It doesn't kick in as fast as xanax, but sticks around a bit longer. Lorazepam is NOT a fun-to-abuse benzo IME, but for me the BEST therapeutic (and least abusable!) one out there.

Pretty sure that he meant you should include information like that in your 1st post in the thread, I agree with his post. This may be basic drug discussion but we can't help you unless we have all the information, and putting it in the original post in the thread makes that a lot easier for us.
 
Lorazepam never did anything for me at 3mg. I have no benzo tolerance but need like 6mg. :( Not worth trying to catch a buzz on it wont touch alprazolam.
 
ativan wont do a damn thing if you have a tolerance to xanax. my primary had me on xanax, 2mg/day. of course i was taking 4-8mg a day, i told my doc i was going on vacation and i cant fill my xanax as im 7 days early, so she gives me Ativan .5 3x a day, i ended up literally dumping the whole bottle in my mouth, no effect!!! garbage, to a new user, it is sedating
 
Well in my experience Lorazepam is much more hypnotic than Xanax, so it`s possible it could knock you out even at lower equivalence doses.
