Opioids Tolerance after bupe/sub maintenance

Simple enough question, but one which doesnt looks like its been covered elsewhere:After a few months of sub maintenance what would your average junkie's short acting opie tolerance be? Given that bupe is a partial agonist, I would assume that your bupe tolerance wont be equivalent to say a morphine tolerance - least I hope tis so =D
 
I'm on buperenorphine maintenance at 24mg daily and when I recently stopped after 24 hours I felt a buzz with 30mg oxycodone and at 48 hours 4mg hydromorphone IV got me feeling real nice. Bupe my maintain some tolerance to classic full mu agonists but it doesn't in my experience keep it at all very high after the block wears off. Before getting on bupe my tolerance was 4 or h fold what it is now.

Wow I expected that would be the case but I didnt know the difference would be so wide. sounds as if this could be a useful tool for us addicts. Rther than spending a decade using 4 gram bags a day, a user could take a bupe holiday. Some users may in fact decide to ditch the needle and stay on bupe. Ive not been remotely sucessful since my psych cravings are wild.
 
when i started bupe about 3 months ago, i attempted to shoot oxymorphone on a few occasions... in the first month i was feeling better and wanted to continue on the bupe but at times my cravings were so bad and i really needed to just shoot up and get high for a day and then jump right back to the bupe...

so i had some opana IRs left over from my last prescription when i got on bupe... the few times that i shot the oxymorph i waited anywhere between 24 and 72+ hours... the first time i shot up at 24 hours, the rush was severely dampened... but that is because the bupe was still strong on my receptors.

at 48 hours, it felt way better but was still somewhat dampened... when i shot 25mg at 72+hours it felt really good... so i feel like my tolerance stayed about the same... but it was in my first month so maybe youd want to know from someone who has been in bupe for a longer time

in fact i just moved to southern cali for school so im craving some heroin so badly... i havent been high in 2 months, i think its time for a few day "vacation" from bupe... problem is, i have no idea where to find dope here yet.

It makes sense that it might level out since the receptors are only being partially stimulated blocking out endogenous and external opiates - I heard that bupe also has some tolerance inhibiting properties too -not sure though.

On a side note, has the UK heroin drougt hit you at all? I heard that it was in part caused by the interfering CIA's bio warfare on the crop in either Turkey or the Afghan provinces. Im guessing we all get out gear from the same sources so a virus would be felt by all.

The UK gets No. 3 heroin (heroin base), typically from the middle east area. The united states is generally supplied by south america/mexico, so I do not believe a 'drought' in the UK would effect supply in the US. I have not personally noticed any lack of H here. If anything there is MORE of it than ever.
 
Ah thanks for shedding light on that cheers. The heroin market in Britain has collapsed people ive spoken too seem to think its a temp shortage but its more profound than that. Average quality of gear in olde Albion is less than 3% - most of my mates have retired from the chase, some have turned to meth/subs some have turned their back on that world completely. Dealers are receiving heroin which could more accurately be described as mildly opiated brick dust and cutting it with benzos creating benzo addicts.
My guess is that this will persist until next summer (new opium crop) or the opiate market will change tack...
