Best PiHKAL drug?

Sorry if this has been asked before. Which do you think is the best PiHKAL drug, not counting the obvious (MDxx, MDA, mescaline)?

I haven't tried any unusual ones myself, but based on PiHKAL and reports on the net, 2c-b always sounded like probably the best of the non-MD, non-mescaline ones. Some of the 2c-t's sounded pretty good, too.

I think Shulgin is still sick but you can post it and Ann would ask maybe. Just ask nicely :)

I'm sure that most of Shulgin's opinions are in the book, which I read some years ago. I was hoping to get some opinions of "regular" folks.

I don't expect very many people to have tried them all, unless you were one of Shulgin's best friends all through the 70s. A lot of them were completely worthless. I'm just interested to hear people's opinions, even if it's just informed speculation. I shared mine.

If you had read the book, he mentions his fave 6. ;) I'm just giving you a hard time =p

OP I would say excluding MDxx, I found 2cc to best fit my needs. The reason I picked it is because its not redic long lasting, there was no bodyload, and psychologically it wasn't too harsh.

*edit* honorable mention to 2cb as well.

Favourite in general? Thiomescaline, escaline, thioescaline.
 
Thanks for your contributions to this thread. It would provide some useful context if you guys mentioned the PiHKAL drugs that you've tried, but you didn't pick. I know the regulars probably have their whole drug histories in the archives, but it would save having to look it up.

My personal PiHKAL drug experience starts and ends with street ecstasy. I believe that at least some of it was MDMA.

Do you prefer those mescaline derivatives over mescaline itself? Are they just substitutes for the real thing? Or do they have their own character entirely?
 
To be absolutely honest I haven't done any of the above (mescaline, thiomescaline, escaline, thioescaline and so on and so forth.) I have tried a few of the 2C compounds (T-2, E) and MDMA. The mescaline analogs intrigue me because doing one - or both - modifications to the mescaline molecule (4-ethylchalcogen, replacing O with S) increases potency greatly, and I bet that the experience would be qualitatively similar to some of the 2c-T series.

That, and it's fun to say thioescaline.

It has a lot of cachet, too, to be able to say that your favorite drug is something as obscure as thioescaline. Especially if you throw in that you know the chemist, or synthed it yourself (in your off-shore secret laboratory).
 
of all the commonly available 2c-x's and DOX's my favorite at the moment is 2c-d. But 2c-b is in a very close second. And to be completely honest i like to combine them to make an experience better than each individual drug can provide on their own.
 
MDMA is my favorite.

2cb is my favorite of the "non obvious" (I have explored 2cb, 2ce, 2ci, 2cp, 2ct2, 2ct7, Doi, methylone)
 
im not sure as i still havent tried enough of the pihkal catalogue (its like being a kid before xmas with the argos catalogue but a million times better!) there are so many on offer i dont know which to try first, i do have some 2-ct-7 on hand though and ill be trying that just as soon as i know its safe to do so (damn ssris, why did i take them) and could easily get 2ci and 2ce but i hear they can be "difficult" hoping to get some 2cb very soon though

Where the heck do you guys find stuff like 2c-b? I'm not asking for a source, just a general insight.

Interesting that there's something on the RC market that might actually be better, though. I know of a vendor for 2c-d that is reputed to be reliable.
