Yeah, I agree that the NetiPot process feels a bit strange at first, but I'm totally sold on the effects. My nose feels so much less sensitive, clogged, bloody since I've been rinsing it with my NetiPot. When I was much younger, we used to snort meth and coke and we'd always do water blasts. A Neti-Pot is so much easier than a water blast and you can use salt water that approximates the saltiness of tears. That makes it much less irritating to the nose.
I sometimes snort my low daily dose of Methadone. (Very rarely, actually, because I have concerns about talc in the lungs) I usually do this if I need to get out of sickness quickly. Oral ROA for methadone can take 2-3 hours even if you suck on the pill 'til it's powder.
This below is about methadone and ROAs. Feel free to skip:
Also, I find that if I take my dose orally, unless I plan my day right with lots of activity and tea/coffee, I'll just fall asleep.
I prefer to be up and motivated and doing things, so I snort it, and that seems to give me the effect I want. The downside to the quick comeup is that a snorted dose lasts maybe 2/3 as long as an oral dose. And that's a big difference. I'm not sure about the duration. I'll have to find the JH paper. Anyway, I can't do it more than 2x a week. When I was younger, I knew people who had those fucking park-your-Bitchen-Camaro garage-sized nostrils and that image kind of stuck with me.
It's too bad. Nasal ROA works great for methadone IME and I read a paper out of Johns Hopkins, I believe, that compared rate of onset, hours in system, etc. between different versions of methadone (liquid, wafer, tabs). The study also confirmed my experience of a nasal dose lasting about 2/3-3/4 as long as an oral dose. The study concluded that methadone worked extremely well via nasal ROA and that drug companies should look into manufacturing. (But the Puritans ain't gonna let that happen any time soon. We want our done-taking underclass to be slow and unmotivated and ignorant. That is all.)
However, I was pleased to find the study (I believe I found it on BL but I may be wrong). And I am going to make nasal spray next script and see how it works. If I recall the paper correctly, I think the nasal ROA had a BA of 86-90% I could be wrong, but it was quite close to those figures. If the method caused me to lose significant drugs I wouldn't have pursued it, so I think that's probably an accurate figure.
This isn't a done thread, but I'll go search my archives and post the paper and relative BAs in the correct forum.
Back on topic: NetiPots are really amazing. And they're cheap. I bought one at the local Co-op Organic market thingey, and it was about $8.
