Are these symptons of w/d from just codeine?

ive been using codeine regually lately. my usually dose if CWE on 40 500/10 tablets. so that's 400mg. The tablets dissolve really easy & I get out every last drop of water I added so I'm assuming I get pretty close to all the codeine out.

I had 80mg Temazepam today & 400mg Codeine & I still don't really feel well. It's only been the last few weeks Codene has been so weak it's not even worth doing.

I feel barely anything from the temazepam either but I guess that's another story or maybe I just dont absorbe drugs well. Yet u could probably notive If Ive had only 2-3 beers which is why I dont drink no more. I actually beleive benzos are a safer alternate to the legal depressant.

anyways im trying not to use codeine becase there's no point if it doesnt work very well taking it. Ive obviously built a tolerance.

now ive been suffering stomache ache lately which seem to be somtimes at the front or my right side. I also feel dehydrated with an always dry mouth & drinking water does help. It just makes me wanna piss all the time.

I hope I dont have inflamation of my stomach or worse yet actually liver or kidney damage.

That can't happen from Codeine though right? It's the APAP ya gotta worry about

I'm gunna get another test done soon. Last years results came out fine & Id done plenty of CWE before the test. But Ive been using it more regually than ever the last yr so I hope its just symptons of some mild problem & not any damage.

Could this be codeine related problems. I mean the drink is fairly strong. & I can usually down it in a single sip if I want.

The drink is very bitter & may inbalance the normal acidity of ya stomach.

I'm just wondering If my stomach related problems & my feelings of dehydration could have anything to do with my codeine use.

Any other opiate users out there who suffer from stomach aches, dehydration?
especially concerning just codeine.

When my WD is about to kick in the first symptom is I piss like I have been holding it for a year. Even if I had nothing to drink for hours. Then the stomach pains and diarrhea and vomiting and sneezing and runny nose are next. Then the changing temperatures of my skin and sweating despite being freezing cold then hot then cold. Then by day two comes the depression where death seems like a reasonable option and the anxiety that someone is coming to get me.

i've seen my brother go thru all of this at times. if he hasn't gotten high he is the most meanest, grumpiest, person to be around. i've even heard him cry a couple times....what is the anxiety like? who would be coming to get you? unless you owe them money you don't have, or do have but need your fix...in my brothers case he owed/jacked someone and ended up getting our house and car shot a couple times. can you describe the depression? i'm curious what i can do to help my brother, what kinda things depress a user, i know the endorphins aren't produced like they should be, or they are but not as high as they were when they were getting high...whichever, so i know that can account for mood...but my bro started with oxy then went to black tar...and trying to get clean. rehabs didn't work, he'd get kicked out, get high there, walk out, etc....so finally my parents are taking him out of town for 1.5 weeks a piece and trying to get him sober enough to think with a straight mind....so far after 1.5 weeks he's passed his dip tests from my parents and now they took a road trip to cali so he isn't around anyone he knows and that'll be about 3 weeks of being sober...last test he took for us he failed for cocaine (crack) meth, opiates, and something he was rx'd, a barbituate..i think he just needs to be high, and with a big opiate tolerance he prolly had a few bucks and meth would get him high

just curious on way to help, if there is anything i can do...i know it's him that wants to quit..but the hard part i imagine all his current friends are junkies, therefore if he's not he won't have many friends...i'm sure others have been in his situation

Just to say - yes it could be codeine WDs, but pain on the right side and dehydration can be a sign of other things such as appendicitis or pyelonephritis (kidney infection) so it might be worth gettuing it checked out.. would hate someone to miss a potentially serious condition as they assumed it was WDs! A simple blood and urine test would rule out infection or a kidney problem..

Neither codeine or APAP can cause kidney disease but APAP can cause liver damage as am sure you are aware so if you've been having more than the recommended max dose it's def worth having a blood test to check your liver too.

If it is something like appendicitis you'll know soon enough and i'm sure it isn't but always wary of assuming symptoms are due to one thing when it is possible that you have something else going on - if in doubt, see a doctor :) and def get some bloods done..

Hope everything works out <3 if you've been doing your CWE's properly it shouldn't matter that you've had lots of them as each one will have contained minimal APAP only. Always worth checking though to be on the safe side. Good luck!

lay off the codeine for a few, until you get better.

Do you find you use the codeine even though you don't enjoy the effects any more? If you answer yes, then you may already be developing a dependency problem.

I started on codeine, until it did nothing for me any more, and i kept on using it, because without it, i felt even less well.
Now, i shoot 2 60mg M-Eslon's a day, just to maintain. I don't get high any more either :\
How it went from CWE'ing 400mgs of codeine and plugging it to shooting morphine, i don't even remember it happened that subtle.

Pull the breaks while you still can. Sit back, and just lay off for a few weeks. Then, if you're going to do it again you will experience the joyful effects again. Until you build up tolerance. And then dependency.

Watch out brother.

P.S: As a former codeine CWE'ler i advise you to add baking soda to your extract, to shift the PH more towards neutral.

i kicked codeine cold turkey from 600mg/day several times, you won't get any vomiting, just general discomfort, hot/cold sweats, muscle cramps, and a bit of insomnia which can allways be sorted witth some sedatives....

try giving the codeine a break and in a weak you'll be back to normal.... then its all about not relaapsing

Sorry for the late reply. Haven't been on in a few days. The anxiety, for me, is based mostly on the fact that I can not face any kind of confrontation. I am mentally and physically too weak to defend myself in any situation. It isn't like a paranoia, just a fear of having to face something...anything.

The depression is just from having 100 times the normal amount of endorphin receptors and no natural ones being made. Your feel good hormones are shut down so you just feel horrible. That is what makes cold turkey kicking so hard. I made it two weeks and still felt like shit. I had to use because I was losing my mind waiting to feel even a little better. I kicked this fucking habit in 09 for 4 months. I started feeling normal again after about 90 days but had to take another try at it only remembering the good times. Forgetting the hell that comes with it. Opiate addiction is ugly. Everyone says benzo withdrawal is worse. I went through it in 05. It is terrifying but I think opiate WD is worse.

I honestly think you should switch to hydrocodone or methadone or percs
Codeine wont do shit once you get a little tolerance

Pain to the right side can indicate gallbladder problems and liver problems. That's how I found out I have a tumor in my liver a few years back. Luckily it's benign.

^ I'm really sorry to hear that, but very lucky it is benign! Would just like to echo what you said - could well be comedown but if the pain is persisting get yourself to dr as it'd be awful to miss something serious..

xbloodwhipx, I don't think encouraging lozgod to move into stronger opioids is really in the spirit of harm reduction.. bad advice imo seeing as Lozgod has already kicked in addiction once andf is struggling to kick this one!

Lozgod, I really hope you start to feel better soon. Facing reality after being used to see it through a warm opiate haze os harsh. You are doing really well and you have BL behind you! If things get too dark, head over to The Dark Side forum for lots of understanding and caring and good ways to get through the bad days. You could also pop to your doctor to see if you could get a short course (say a week, definitely no more!) of something to help you through if it is really crippling. Last resort though I'd say. The one good thing you should hold onto is that you have kicked this before - you can do it again! Good luck <3
