temaz is weak and short, and prob only get euphoria first try? I find clon alot better and longer, gets me fucking chatting, infact my whole house hold has been using it and we're all chirpy as chips

its a pain in the ass, i've tried clonaz a couple of times.. (fucking loved it) and xanax a couple of times (xanax just knocked me the fuck out) vaium a couple of times was good too

A side question... anyone ever feel that the effects of diazepam feel less pronounced after using aplraz for a while? I dont seem to be finding the effects of valium to be as pronounced as I did before taking xannies for a couple weeks. Didnt think there was any cross tolerance there?

D_M already answered this, but yes there is cross-tolerance between benzodiazepines. This cross-tolerance will vary, however, as the benzodiazepines do not all bind to the same allosteric site. Some will bind at other GABA benzodiazepine sites in the brain compared to others, which is why they all have differing effects; some are more anxiolytic, others have more pronounced sedation or muscle relaxation, etc...

I like temazepam; the only downside is it's potency, the dosage size and the pack sizes that it comes in. Apart from that, I think it's a decent benzodiazepine.

Clonaz and Alpraz, very close in terms of euphoria. For me its Alpraz.
Temaz waz great when it was in the footballs but a bit short acting.

Halcion is good but too short.

So I had 20mg of diazepam IV'd today and it had no effect whatsoever. This was done at the doctors surgery... fuck my tolerance. I'm prescribed 80mg a day of the shit and have a boatload of estazolam i play with. FUcking fuck.

It really isn't hugely surpising that a quarter of your daily dose of a drug with extremely high oral bioavailability had little effect on you IV dude, even among inexperienced people 20mg diazepam would not be regarded as a particularly great dosage and your current tolerance to benzodiazepines is significant. I am curious of the circumstances in which a GP booted you up with valium, I wish my GP were so kind but atleast he prints the scripts right. ;)

I hope shits going well for you man, I know its easier said than done but perhaps if your tolerance is so unsatisfying you should give tapering a shot, by all accounts benzo addiction is a nasty one and it does not sound like you are deriving much benefit from them.

I've been taking 2mg clon for about a month now, about 1 a day (self-medicating I've got some anxiety and insomnia). I want to kick it. I had my last one this morning, do you think I'll be fine, any withdrawls?

Tripman I can see how taking so many pills would be annoying, particularly if one was forced to be constantly filling standard sized diazepam scripts to match such a habit, however diazepam does seem to be the benchmark for tapering a benzodiazepine addiction and there must be some reason for this. Obviously the potency of clonazepam presents a problem when it comes to reducing small percentages of low to moderate doses on a regular basis, one could switch to diazepam when their tolerance got low enough but I think it is probably ideal to use the one benzo to taper rather than switch between benzos at different stages in the taper as it would be impossible to fully account for incomplete cross tolerance.

I am really not an expert on benzodiazepine addiction or tapering and I could be wrong, either way good luck in getting off the benzos again as they are a nasty habit to have.

The-Future, it is hard to say if you would have developed a physical addiction, some people get the mquicker than others and I am not sure about clonazepam but have definately read that supposedly alprazolam withdrawal symptoms can appear after 7 or 8 days of dosing. As clonazepam has a considerably longer half life I do imagine a habit would take longer to develop but a month is obviously quite a bit longer than just over a week. Any withdrawal you experience should not be anywhere near a dangerous level but if you struggle with it you could try being honest with your doctor and seeing if he will write out a script or two of diazepam with a tapering program.

I try use em for comedowns mainly and/or just got a out of whack nice weekend of "forgot". abuse em and it will turn nasty like most stuff. I think my house mate has developed a bit of of something in the past weeks of since he's been using them but it's not daily, only back to back days sometimes then like 3 days off, but i'm not even sure, he could be poping whole time for all i know. mixing it with anti-pyscotic ie zyperxia/abilify is that a no no or would he somewhat be fine as he's prescriped those 2 but he wants benzos. I don't think they'd give them to him cuz he'd abuse.

according to my shrink, clonazepam/klonopin has mush less risk of addiction than xanax/alprazolam (man, these are hard to spell). And I don't think it works anywhere near as well...

temezapam is a hypnotic. not really a benzo, officially.

lol what? The two aren't exclusive. Temazepam is definitely a benzodiazepine given that it has a benzene ring and a diazepine ring. Benzos have hypnotic properties (among other effects) and hence can be described as hypnotics. Many drugs will have a structural and (often multiple) functional class/es, for example amitriptyline is a tricyclic and an antidepressant.

supposedly if you drink aspirin before taking benzos it greatly enhances the sedative effects. That's what my pharmacology textbook states. I am going to try it.

+1. Maybe proof-read your post, gwencooper, before submitting around here! ;)
